    Hello Everyone,
I am new to Ferrari Chat. I am looking to purchase a 328 GTS. I have found two both under 25k miles, full service history and both are in pristine condition. I now have to make a choice, nero with tan or russo with tan both have tan carpet. The 328 looks stellar in both color combinations. Please help me make this tough decision. Thanks for your time....
    Gregg

If you get one in black, you will want a red one. Choose red to start out. That’s my two cents. I chose red with my 89 and am happy I did.

Red. Easier to keep clean, easier to touch up, far easier to sell.

    RED!

FWIW, First time I saw a non-red Ferrari I just assumed it was the undercoat in preparation for a new coat of red. ;)

I have a Nero metallic and black interior 328 and love it!
The Nero does not show dirt like a regular black car does.
I have two other black cars in my garage and they show dirt much worse.

    I vote Nero/tan hands down.

Black one with big red stripe?
Can’t go wrong with either color. All comes down to condition and personal preference. Congrats! :)

I have a red over tan and it looks great. Having said that, black over tan looks even better. There used to be a member here with such color combination and it looked gorgeous.

Black hides the curves and lines too much; go with something brighter.

    Way more than 2.

Rosso Corsa, Rosso Barchetta, Rosso Scuderia are the names and the shades are even more numerous.

Let's make it easy and call it "red."

On the contrary. Black reveals the purity of the lines. Red distracts from them.

My advice is to ensure that this is true. These are antique cars and each one has a different history. If you are truly that ambivalent regarding the two colors, pick the car which appears to be the best maintained.

Regarding color, I am of the "Ferrari's are supposed to be red" school of aesthetics. Yes, the bulk of Ferraris are red, but Ferraris are so rare that the only time where a color different than red might be nice is at Ferrari club gatherings. It is a sea of red.

Red is cliché to me. I love black, but it's practically a part time job to keep it looking decent.

Red is what people expect, and easier to sell. I have trouble convincing some people that my car is a factory color :)

Go for red, black hides the black belt line and louves in the rear.

That does not apply for an OEM 328, for which, as said by Bertrand above, only two reds were available as "standards" from the factory (Glasurit paints):
    - Rosso Corsa FER 300/6 until mid-1987, then FER 300/9
    - Rosso met 305/C
Any other Red would have been available only on a special order (paying extra cost and waiting longer)
The two factory OEM blacks (Glasurit) were
    - Nero FER 1240
    - Nero met 901/C

    See nerofer's answer

The two "Rosso" and two "Nero" are look like not equal and some could like or dislike one of them. Rosso met 305/C is very different than Rosso Corsa ! Even it's rare and hard to find any 328 in this color
