Enjoy it! As you settle into the car and how it works and HOW FAST it is...….It gets harder to describe it. Nothing comes close. GTJOEY1314 ALL THE BEST.
Like nothing else I’ve ever driven. And it’s unrelenting. Just 120/130/140/150/160 all seem to pass by in equal amounts of time no let up.
I hope you're up early this morning staring into the garage...I would be. Congrats again and she's a beauty. I really would like to get pros/cons from you after a week or so after the initial honeymoon is over. With Performante on order but May delivery, and winter around the corner with deals to a plenty, I can be swayed...but value honest feedback. Many I have talked to say they don't feel engaged after several weeks and others prefer the more DD feel. So let us know...I'll be checking back. Have a blast this weekend!!! That color is mesmerizing!
I ran comparable numbers from 60 to 130, I think we can do better though. Believe it or not you can still get some wheel spin.
For sure will do. I can tell you lack of engagement was my biggest worry. That and the awful turbo lag that I had felt in the 650 when I was debating between that and the 720. As exoticcardeeamer stated above- you put it in the right mode and drive it properly- no lag. It’s miles better than 650. Massive improvement. As far as engagement, after one day, I can tell you my initial impressions are that it’s a non issue. The car hugs you, is very nimble and precise. Similar to what my GT3rs was but with an extra 200 hp. Thoroughly impressed after a day and hats off to Mclaren. I used to roll my eyes at comments that Ferrari is being passed or that Ferrari better look out- the competition is real. Um..mclaren is legit. Real deal and Ferrari should be worried. I mean the market is big enough that both will do fine but it’s a great day to be an exotic car owner. Lots and lots of great choices.
Your initial impression is exactly how I felt and the reason I have not been able to trade out of my car, I just cant find anything else that is comparable or "better" for me. In regards to the engagement most say this because of the sound which is not too bad if your outside of the car but quite inside. The downpipes and exhaust I just added have solved this.
The downpipes really did change the car. I saw you posted that they also shave 40 pounds off the car which is another plus. Can’t wait for you to post your performance results with the downpipes.
So my wife prefers this 720 over the 488. Cause it’s more quiet, and she can have a conversation with me.
I picked it up this morning and drove around. First off you definitely feel the power bump in the mid range, kind of scary. Sound wise at idle in sport mode you can barely tell the difference. Switch to track and it opens up. While driving it is not intrusive and there is no drone. However it screams when you get on it with pops and cracks. Nothing like the Perf but damn good. Downshifts at high RPMs are sick.
There was some douce bag with a matching papaya spark t-shirt using windex to clean the windows on his papaya spark 720s at the cars and coffee event today somewhere in Arizona -
