Serious Question , per your above reply to your Dealer:

Would you be bothered if you were never offered another new Ferrari again ?

I mean seriously, obviously any owner has the right to react to and treat their dealer however they want to. But at what point does one also except the consequences of said bravado?

Like others have said, there are plenty of nice cars in the market place available in the same price range, so you as the buyer have lots of options.

At the same time there are many new owners wanting to get into Ferrari’s that have not been able to before due to limited production, dealership posturing and their own version of bravado.

They risk losing a long-term client such as yourself.

You lose the opportunity of being able to purchase new Ferraris from them.

    Signed,

    Curious

I have gotten to the point that because I’m not the high roller that these Ferrari dealers are looking for, I’ve gotten blown off because I refuse to buy another car to buy the car I want. I already have 3 Ferrari’s now. But no I’m not qualified to purchase a Pista. They can shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

When all else fails, repeat after me " A Ferrari is a Ferrari". I guess it is what it is.

Not too hard for a person to act as a point person and buy cars on behalf of their friends... spread the depreciation losses around to get the car that appreciates.

Things are not so pure in the exotic car buying world... Plenty of people on car forums to confuse the situation for others.

    Man- so much emotion for a car. I don’t have an allocation. It’s all good. I bought a 720. Could have bought a Performante. Own a 488. Sold a gt3 and a GT3.

There is no such thing as a dream car- only the next car. no Pista? No problem! Next

So , let me get this straight, because you cannot play with the big boys, they are the bloodsuckers?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you have to, but if you have 10 people in the room and five of them are willing to spend the money it takes to get the car they want, when they want it....how is the dealer the bad guy???

Why exactly would they turn down the client who’s willing to spend more money over a guy who is on the Internet calling them names?

    Take your money elsewhere.

You have $2M to spend on Ferraris? Go to AM and try to get put on the list for the next Valkyrie version or something. Do you want a Pista or a "hypercar"?

One guy says that when you see a Ferrari on the road, you know it's something more special than the competition. Well, that assumes you only see the normal cars by the competition. If you can afford it, there are a hell of a lot of variety out there. Want something better sounding, more high tech, more exclusive, and high performance than a Pista? Plenty of 918s for sale, and they seem to have halfway decent residuals ;)

In response to a question posed, at age 72 do not care if I am offered a new car or not.
Love cars but priorities change as we age.

I'm sorry Farrari there is so much good competition today I don't need to buy your cars. I purchased a F12 TDF from San Diego over a year ago on the open market and paid a premium. In turn they told me I'd be a VIP. Well they don't even return my phone calls. Today I'm enjoying my Maclaren, Porsches and other supercars Without the attitude.

I would pick pick an later 812 allocation, get the pista allocation confirmed and flip the 812 allocation. And just move to another Ferrari dealer. I guess OP is in US, so dozens of dealers to pick from, the only dealer I wouldn't mess with is the one where you mantain.
Hell I'm in Europe and even here, plenty of dealers around, if not in your countr there are others, if noy available inside the UE zone, Norway, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Monaco exist too, bit extra to import, but at least one dealer will not go into much bs.
All a matter of respect and money. I understand dealers but there are a lot of ways of skinning a cat, honesty usually works the best.

Oh and for all of you struggling with allocations, it's a bit obvious how the hell you can get one to pretty much every car, the only thing you need is either to have lots of $$$ or have friends and family that spend as much as you in cars. Form an holding company, have everyone buy from there, 3 family members or very close friends so you all can flip cars between yourselves.

If alone, just do big specs from time to time, tailor made if possible, never speak bad of the brand or talk about any problem anywhere, get a classiche car, don't be a bimbo (fashion wise, personality, and spec) and buy every new model, doesn't matter if you sell it after 1k miles, just get what is offered.
This does work better with 2 or 3 very close people + friends that (want to) buy cars that you don't really care.
Or just pay brokers the adm and be happy. Stick to one broker too, they want profit but they want to treat their good clients right too. To be honest, latelly I've being more keen on broker dealers than dealerships, some brokers have quite eccletic and extremely interesting offers, some know the existence of the weirdest rarest cars, and are easier to get into the good client list given how wide (type and brands) their offerings are.

In the US, you could not order new from a dealer in a different geographic area. Do not know if this still the case.
