They seem to pretty well nail it. I agree with almost everything they say. https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/road-tests/a24845068/ferrari-812-superfast-road-test/
Great review. Super super excited to get mine. Was told it's status "30 paint" at this point. Oh boy.
Well, when I borrowed one for a hour or so long demo drive, and I arrived at the dealership in my F12b, so it wasn't like I arrived in a slow car, when I gave it max acceleration on to the highway (with permission!!) I simply blurted out "holy s***!!! this thing is really really fast!!" I wasn't scared, but I was really "blown away" with the car. Its been a while since I drove a new car that impacted me in such a way. Comparing to the F12b, it feels like it has 150 more hp. And the car's personality has moved a lot closer to 458 in that it just wants to play. The speed and more so, the unrelenting nature of the power delivery, are such that I can understand how someone would say it "scared the hell out" of them. It is really shockingly fast. You might say.... (yes Im going to say it...) its super fast!
Your description reminded of my reaction when I tasted the 599, after the 575... "Bloody hell", verbatim!!!
Totally agree with the article and u will love it! I was very confused by JC’s review where he said that it was too jittery and high strung to be a proper GT. I driven numerous times on our local HW at 65 and it was as relaxed and comfortable as any great GT I have ever driven.
I think a lot of the jittery reaction is simply about how quick and responsive the steering is. In my F12 I really do have to pay attention to keeping the car going straight down the road. The car is responsive, you can't let your attention wander.
Yes, these are cars you must dedicate your attention to driving. They are not hard to drive, but you must give your attention. As it should be.
