Lewis Hamilton hints at Formula One exit if calendar expands further

    https://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/09/motorsport/lewis-hamilton-formula-one-expansion-spt-intl/index.html

"I am not going to be here if it gets to 25 races, that's for sure," Hamilton told reporters.
"It already feels like we are on race 25 this year, so I don't think that's a good thing. I think 18 was probably the best back in the day."

Despite next year also featuring 21 races, the schedule in 2019 means the F1 calendar will run into December for the first time in over 50 years.

26 for good measure? The Grand Prix of Easter Island? The Grand Prix of Sudan? The Grand Prix of Antarctica?

Too many races dilute the value of a GP and extend the season.

I'm sure Hamilton isn't the only one from the GP circus who thinks 25 is too many races. It's a good thing that he stands up and speaks up.

Right. It's not just the drivers. I'm sure many of you have noticed that there are tons of other people on the teams. But, they do know that when they sign up for it . . .

The teams have stated many times that 20 is the max they are willing to support.

Alonso said a few months ago the same thing as Lewis now.

It's Liberty who is pushing for more races to make a profit. At the expense of the teams obviously.

I used to agree, but if it means the crybaby ****s off, I’m all for 30 races a season

Forza Ferrari..... the only racing team and car marque that matters. Italia forever It’s easier to apologise than it is to ask permission

Honestly speaking, if it was my decision there would only be 18 races at most.

This season is plenty long enough. 25 races will lose fans. Rubbish idea.

And whose going to pay for it? Many teams find it hard enough to survive and travel to 20 races as it is.

They should have 25 races but 5 of them have "guest drivers". That would be pretty cool.

Either rookie or a veteran or a driver from another series. The teams get to choose. I think that would spark things up.

Or another idea.... have a "by" week where one team doesn't even compete. They get to stay home.

Well seems like this season, Williams is always opting for a by week! LOL

The more Lewis wins, breaks records and claims world championships, I have watched over the years how this pukers up your ass and you come across as a bitter ranting old man. By the time his career is ended he may well have every single record broken and you may well be in a straight jacket :D .

F1 is a follow the leader series. Too many races where the pole position and/or the second qualifier wins. I pray for rain to have some other finishing order. MOTOGP is a better series with higher speeds and real men.

Four or five more races won’t change a thing. 4 will be boring especially if they’re Tilke circuits and the 5th may be interesting. Merc will likely have the WDC and the Constructors easily locked up by race 14 or 15 so it’ll just be more meaningless races to watch.

Back again with your personal attacks and rants?

We all Know it’s now the Mercedes fan forum, but I’d like to think that this sort of thing is still frowned upon? If you really think it makes a single difference to me, then I assure you I have enough going on that it occupies my mind only when in the f1 section and seeing the posts by the wild eyed Elton fans that seem to take such enjoyment from trolling when, if they were real fans, they’d be in an official Mercedes forum waxing lyrical with their like minded friends. If any were having some kind of psychological episode. I’d say it’s those that can’t cope with other teams having fans that don’t agree with their twisted view of the world and feel the need to attack people in a forum where the majority of people are likely to disagree with them
