Fun fact: I've shut down 2 threads already slugging it out with the purists. As much fun as that is, I made a public commitment to be less antagonistic.

This car is as good as any Ferrari have produced. It's off the chart sales prove that. So good, in fact, that it's making customers wonder why they should buy an 812. Sure, it sounds great. But it's 200HP that nobody's really going to use, the styling is an acquired taste, and if you want it in convertible be prepared to pay 7 figures. Meanwhile, for 1/3 less cash, you can get a gorgeous daily driver with better gas mileage, a disappearing roof, more storage space and lower maintenance costs.

They may not have been looking to undermine their halo cars, but it looks like they did just that.

Don't shoot me but I like the Daytona better. :)

Back when "aero" was from your eye and regulations didn't restrict what you could make.

What's surprising to me is the Portofino's windscreen is even more tilted back than the Daytona's. The more a windscreen is tilted back, the more optical problems you have.

The Daytona is a classic, no apology necessary. I posted the comparison to show how proportionally sound the Portofino is. It's lines are classical, which is why it resonates so strongly with people. Word is, the Daytona was a strong influence for Ferrari's design team. I'm not saying the Porto is better than the Daytona, only that it compares favorably.
