Oh please.... you think the stewards are always right and there's no politics involved? BTW: the Brooklyn Bridge is for sale. I hear it's a bargain.
Probably that Verstappen received a serious rollocking from Horner and Marko for having been so dumb, and lost a certain win. Ocon was no threat at all, he must have known that. So why did he resist the pass ?
They took the view Ocon was to blame, so punished him. No drama there, he isn't a contender, but that raised in the open the issue of unlapping, which some consider shouldn't been allowed. I can live with that. But the fact remains that Verstappen shot himself badly in the foot with his petulance.
Yes both. I posted some time back I felt it was a racing incident. That corner is passing-central in Brazil and Max knows it along with every other driver in any series racing there.
I'm a fan of Max but if the other drivers hand it back to him, so be it. If they decide to get aggressive right back on track and show Max he better think twice about that overtake, thats fine by me. If another driver confronts him after a GP and punches him in the mouth, oh well, guess Max better stop what he did or defend himself better. Just don't cry about an athlete pushing another one, with one hand, not even that hard, and act like he committed some horrible violent act. Children push each other on the playground all the time. They'll be fine.
Ocon, the poor lamb, is a dangerous liability who needs to be removed from F1 immediately. He has taken out Perez enough times for that to be plain to see. Taking out Max was just another example of his inappropriate and dangerous behaviour which is a threat to life. He won’t be missed. Max shouldn’t have shoved him, and he’s been given detention with no milk and cookies as a result. A complete over reaction, but fair enough to appease the snowflake community.
Yes, William thinks the stewards are the only authority that counts.. he repeatingly mentioned that this is the only indicator one is cheating or overstepping a rule: whether the stewards think so or not. One can not have it both way when it suits in the second. Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
Perfect analogy. Yes, that is what CHILDREN do. And it's not okay that they do it. I don't know why some on here think that the severity of Max's shove makes some kind of difference. Once it gets physical, a line gets crossed. And that is the line between being an immature punk and a professional. Yes, other sports have physical altercations, but they are usually sports that are physical in the first place. Penalties are usually in place that are applied immediately after the altercation, and the game continues. In Max's case, he actually went to seek Ocon out after the race. You would think cooler heads would prevail and team consultation from when the incident happened until after the race would keep such an incident from occurring, but no, not with Max. He cannot help himself. Just substitute Ocon's name for Max's, and Perez's name with several other driver's names, and this statement applies even more to Max, right? What's with your little baby innuendos? Mommy issues?
Well put. There are ways to argue a different in motor racing, like complaining to the stewards, or appealing against a decision, etc .... Knowing his bad temper, Verstappen was badly handled by his team that let him approach Ocon in the first place. I don't subscribe to that school of thoughts that believes everything should be settled physically by assaulting whoever gives you some grief. It's really sad that many seems to think that conflicts should always be resolved the macho way by throwing punches.
The really sad part: Max started out the young lion golden boy -- and ended up the school yard bully.
Christ almighty, anybody would think max flattened Ocon and broke his nose or something.... max pushed him a bit, and to me it looked like the sort of push that my Mrs could’ve coped with.... pair of prats in the fight department, I reckon the cops or stewards or anyone else is more embarrassed for the two little lads than they were angry at them... neither look like they could fight their way out of a wet paper bag. In any sport, where emotions run high and nerves are on the edge, sometimes people can’t help but lash out at a perceived wrong.... big deal. **** me, over the years when racing or playing pool, someone takes me out of a race with a dumbass move, or moves my cue stick as I’m lining up the nine, angry things happen.... so what? This is now turning into a bigger issue than the one at hand.... how does ferrari get its act together and provide the total racing solutions for its drivers that the likes of Mercedes and Red Bull do for Elton and max?. TBH, although I think Ocon needed to allow the room for the race leader when unlapping himself, even if he had ten seconds a lap in extra speed, but in reality I couldnt care less about max aside from when he is punting Ferrari’s around. If he has to don a striped jumper and clear up ********* for two days community service, that’s great, but, we all know and moan about how drivers nowadays have no personality - we’ll, max’s is pretty firey, and it should be fun to watch him if he gets competitive to the Mercedes more often next year as he might well prove to be as annoying as another Rosberg to Elton, and this time, Elton won’t have his team able to issue orders to hold the Dutchman back. It could be 2009 all over again for Elton, remember those races when he was magneticly attracted to massa’s Ferrari?
If F1 wants to start behaving like hockey, I can easily find something else to watch or do. The hot tempers in sports is long overdue for a smack down from the sanctioning bodies.
Ocon did leave room, he was on the curb, it was Max that decided he'd drive like he was the only one on the track...again. Just like suzuka. He needs to leave a car width of room when there's another car next to him. I don't care if it's lapped traffic or for the lead.
Very true and for the life of me I can't understand the FIA's attitude It's like only the top 6 cars count and the rest might as be not racing at all
I saw on-boards with team radio. Max new Ocon was pushing way before the Senna Essex's (T1 & T2)....he says this on team radio. Followed by Horner saying that Ocon is on a fresh set of supersofts. Again before the Senna Essex's. So Max and management knew the "sit-rep" with Ocon. After looking at pics and vids and hearing team radio, both were at fault. Both have history dating back to their karting years. Will it change after this incident???...maybe. If nothing happened and Max let him go, Ocon would eventually get the blue flag signal and would have to let Max by. Backmarkers, and lapped ones, on occasion "gift" the pass to the leader dependent on where they are at said track out of respect and the notion that "he's lapped me" or "he's gonna lap me" so why fight the leader plus the blue flags. These two have no respect for each other given the situation. Everyone knows in F1 Max has a "high risk assesment" when going toe-to-toe with him as he himself has set that precedent with the top drivers; it's A form of racing. Ricciardo does his overtakes with more class and patience and learns when and where to pick his battles. DR at times outbrakes his opponent which he too exudes A form of racing. There's the "bullying" side of racing which some of us like because it takes us back to "our past drivers" and there's the classy side of racing where it's "clean/gentleman-like" and that style of racing, which some of us like, and favors our past drivers. Redbull currently has quite the dichotomy of race drivers. Choose your pick but Horner is in the mindset of "bullying" racing. We saw it with Seb/Webber and now Max/Ricciardo.
Are you even following this thread? Why are you stuck on how hard or softly Max shoved him? THIS IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT!
