I am thinking of buying a McLaren 570s.... thinking of a spider.... anyone here have any good points to both? I am going to sell my F430 spider... I think I would miss not having the convertible...anyone that has a spider, have you had any issues?
    thanks

I think both cars are similar in performance due to the carbon tub so it’s a matter of personal preference. I’m a coupe guy myself but really both are fun.

If you’re going 570 then spider for sure. No downside. Same stiffness as the coupe and a hard top.

I'd have normally said coupes always look better, but the 570S Spider looks almost identical to the coupe. I see no reason you'd want a coupe over a spider other than price.

Yup there is zero downside in a spider, it is just as fast, looks the same as the coupe top up, no wind noise, you will be very happy driving top down or just lowering the rear window and listening to the engine noise

Yep Spider every time. Looks exactly like the coupe, just as stiff as the coupe, and with the top up you can roll down the rear window for a quick audio upgrade.

Illl be the lone voice for the coupe. Cheaper. I just don’t like convertibles. I know I’m strange. Just feel vulnerable them. Some a hole pulls up next to you and wants to harm you- nothing you can do in a spider.

I know I know I’m paranoid but just a personal thing.

I'm a coupe guy as well. Never cared for topless (well in cars)...

well I need to think this over.. next is color..lol I am thinking either storm grey or McLaren orange or another orange color...… some people say the car should be bright color and stand out... orange ….. I think the storm grey is very classy looking and sometimes its good not to draw too much attention... that's why I did a black F430, thoughts??

IN the same boat as you. For 720 stuck between orange and black. Where I live I think orange would be a little loud for a DD, but I love it. However, I need to think beyond the first two weeks and what can I live with (in my everyday life). Decisions....

Can you get a spider with the glass tops in a 570?

I don't think the 570S has a glass roof option for the Spider. I think the dimming glass roof is only on the 570GT.

The 720S Spider will have a dimming glass roof, or so I heard.
