Official 308 GTB/GTS Market Thread

Is this thread really dead since May? Time to bring it to the front then [emoji846] To have some kind of contnent, we have the first Euro carburetor GTB out in the Swedish market since i started looking for my own car 10 years ago. A fully restoted red and beige with asking price of 1,2M SEK, around 125K Euro. Will be interesting to see if it sells. Most probably going abroad like most older older Ferraris in Sweden lately....

I have the first steel Euro car as a German delivery car but Argento so I am very interested to learn more about this one.

 

I was misleading you with my phrasing... what i menat was the first euro carburetor GTB that i have seen for sale in Sweden for 10 years, not the first one in genersal. Sorry for the confusing statement.

Is it a Sweden delivery car from new ?
I am very interested to learn when does the Sweden market have the washing nozzle for the front light. I've seen them on QV but I don't know about the 2v injected car or even the carbureted models. Do you know about that ? Thank you.

Of course, here is the link [emoji846] I have a started to create my own little register of 308s here, we have around 65 including GT4s. From what ive heard the was a gap of import until early 80s, which matches what i can see in my register, and also matches what you just meantioned. Some 2V injected cars are the first after the gap to be registrerad in Sweden as first registrarion(with the funny headlight cleaners in the front). Seems like Sweden a and Switzerland have something in common from fsctory specification, compared to, other Euro 308s. Due to the import gap, there are no Swedish carburetor cars. Unfortunately i dont know the origin of this specific car.

I’ll add some market numbers for my cars:
‘77 GTB 32,000 mi Grade 2-3 $54K DEC 2017
‘76 GTB VR 80,000 mi Grade 2 $162K JUN 2018

 

I was checking Hagerty car valution since this seems to show levels based on sales rather than asking prices (which most of the time seems way to optimistic) An interesting observation is that carburetor GTS is slightly higher valued than carburetor GTB, at least looking at condition 2 cars. QVs are also higher than carburetor versions (except Vetros of course). Both observations seems totally the opposite to what is said everywhere else.

This '79 GTB just sold for $50K on BAT. Car seemed to be pretty honestly presented. Car has needs, but I'm kind of thinking the the buyer paid a fair price. Theres work to do and some invisible stuff to fix, or you can just drive the wheels off it and not worry too much about it. Curious as to other opinions on this one or if anyone knows more about the car.

I think they stole it! If it's a dealer expect it back on at $70K+.

Looking at the pictures it really doesn't look like a 15k mile car, or was not well kept. There is $30-$40k worth of work you make this a great car.

 

I think it went relatively cheaply for this current market.

 

The rust bubbles & cracked bumper hurt the value for sure. The suspension needs a complete rebuild. Some of the exterior trim also needs restoration. Once you factor in fees and transport costs, I think it went for a fair price. Hopefully the new owner corrects the issues and makes it a great car.

The market is soft right now of course ,but surely the iconic Carb 308 will most likely follow the same trajectory as the 246 Dino (eventually), remember when they where unloved?

For the records, ˋ78 euro GTB, one owner, first paint, oro chiaro, 8.000 miles, 140K Euro, sold 12/2018

 

A lot of money... seems like the extremely original and well kept cars still sell well, the average or not so good cars (the majority) are dropping a bit lately. Im following the European market mostly, plenty for sale but looking into the details it feels like only around 10-20% of the cars you would consider buying.

I think that's one of those color schemes that takes a rather specific buyer.

 

Also not a Euro car...as far as I can tell...
