488 Pista - qualifying demands

Yes mate out here you've really got to pay to play (as you well know) so you've really gotta be careful what you decide to pay to play with.

Unfortunately not the case. Cheapest one available then add on road tax about another 20 k plus so about $480 k AUD or $350 k USD But the other few that are for sale are in the $550 BRACKET with over 5000 miles

Performante- 0-60- 2.4 seconds
1/4 mile - 10.1 seconds

Hardly slower than your 488.

What is it that you are trying to say? I have no idea the point you are trying to make.

 

The performante is faster than the 720. Then you say the 720 is faster. Now you quote the 0-60 time of the performante.

Rather simple. The Performante is faster on launch and therefore is quicker 0-60. By the 1/4 mile the 720S bests the Performante by about .2 seconds. In the 1/2 mile there is no contest with the 720S handily ahead. How these facts translate to actual real world driving experience again is obvious. From a stop, the Performante accelerates more quickly. Once both cars hit 40 mph, the 720S accelerates to 120 mph with lightning speed and leaves the Performante behind.

In response to your comment that the 488 was faster than the Performante- In comparison to the 488, the Performante is quicker 0-60 - 2.4 seconds compared to 2.8. In the 1/4 mile - 10.1 versus 10.4. On no metric is the 488 faster than the Performante.

You could be waiting a long time. If it happens, with the battery tech Tesla are invested in it would need a very heavy battery which would give you great performance....in a straight line. If they use new tech, such as a solid state battery, then it will be a looooong time. Speed gets old quick and for a sports car to have no real sound, this could be quite boring once you get tired of beating everyone from the lights.

That’s hilarious. I’m on FChat in hopes of someday being a as funny as you guys are.

 

Don't forget the benefits of true torque vectoring though. You can do a lot dynamically when you can operate each wheel truly independently, as I assume the Roadster would be able to do.

While it's still vaporware, I think the Roadster is the most exciting supercar on the horizon given it's price. The only EV supercars available now are the Nio and Rimac, and they are low production, million dollar cars. $250K for a Roadster will be amazing.

 

The Tesla is the most exciting car?? Not Ferrari, or Porsche, or mclaren- but Tesla??
