    There's a new website about Ferrari of Los Gatos that ran some stories about Magnum PI and the 308 Ferrari. Click on this link if you'd like to read about it or see pictures of the 1982 308 Ferrari used in the original TV series at the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles.     I think they had to change Higgins. The first one was so inimitably good, anyone else would have paled in comparison.

    I actually like the new Higgins - she seems to be the cast member who is most comfortable in their role and as uptight and proper as the original. The show is as lightweight as the original but I think it's enjoyable. Gorgeous Hawaii scenery and all the great shots of the Ferraris.

    My only beef is the silly action sequence at the end of the first episode. Way too Fast and the Furious and not Magnum PI at all in my opinion.

    My expectations were modest though - the original series wasn't exactly great either.

    I like her. They are more like buddies, instead of that antagonist relationship in the original.

    Question, why are you all moving homes around? Or are you moving the backdrop? The estate appears to by right off of chinamans hat, and I know that isn't there...and my house was turned into a forest along Kailua beach haha. Looked like the kaneohe ranch days.

    Love it...your offer still stands to get a peek/tour of the set or product facility? Been a huge Magnum P.I. Fan since the 80s. Even have the original Paradise Found Hawaiian shirts Tom Selleck wore on the show.

    They love CGI. Danno's ex's house was down the street from me. I knew the house, but for some reason, it had the Koolaus in the background instead of Kuliouou/Niu Valley. lol

    Filming on location has its issues always, In the case of Magnum PI in Honolulu the tourist always has to come first,
    Hi end neighborhood always give us concerns mainly how late and how early we can be there CGI is a great expense
    but often the only answer, but would I rather be on a sound stage in LA or on this beautiful island you guessed it.

    For me, that’s part of the problem. At times she’s really hostile, condescending, stuck up and bitchy, basically unprofessional, and we don’t really know why...and then later she’s going on adventures with him as a sidekick. And afterward, disdainful again.
    It’s odd.

    The tension between magnum and Higgins in the original, seemed more natural...there was a paternal relationship with essentially a man child....perhaps some bygone anti-American attitudes from a previous generation that no longer makes sense, as well. And at times, it seemed like there may have been some rivalry for robin masters respect.

    In the new one, the tension just feels forced, unexplained and inconsistent.
