Yes, black alcantara and red leather - these are the new style race seats.

Nice Mac. On a near identical schedule. My dealer thinks May/June delivery. We'll see. I put my deposit down Jan18, lock down spec in Dec, build early in the year for a late spring delivery. 18mos start to finish I'd say.

My dilemma is Blu tour de France/Cuioco or Argento/Cuioco, really haven't decided yet. Dark Blue is stunning, but the silver really brings out the sculpting of the body work. Amazingly the cuioco interior works masterfully with either scheme.

Awesome car man! I have a TDF Blue car being built right now. I originally put my deposit down in Feb, put in the final config about a month ago and it's being built now.

Make sure you are registered on the Ferrari website and that your car shows up under your account so you can get build pics. I literally got this one a couple of days ago. This is the paint area after priming but before putting on the glorious TDF Blue. My car will be darker than yours as I'm going with the black forged racing wheels. My interior is nero / blue with yellow stitching.

Congratulations! Beautiful combination and great use of the new race seat pattern!

@klinkman I saw on IG a beautiful all argento car with no shields and it looked very clean. I love blue but this left an impression! I just tried finding it and no success.

I used to love full CF, and now not so much. Really depends on the car for me. On my Pista I went full full CF, inside and out. This being a GT car, not so much carbon. But I love the race seats, and my wife finds them more comfortable. I just love the entire car - spent weeks agonizing over minutia of the spec. Already planning a few minor post-delivery tweeks.

The 812 is not really a GT, but whatever floats your boat, of course!

So what's missing from the 812 that prevent it from being defined as a Grand Tourer?
External spare mounted to the rear window or leather strap on the bonnet or what?

Curious to know why you say this? For me it would be the ultimate GT.

Ferrari distinguishes two ranges of cars - the Sport series and the Gran Turismo series.
The "GT" are the Portofino and Lusso (previously, the California and FF), while the 812 and 488 are considered the "Sports" cars.

Not sure Ferrari is the final arbiter here.
What they choose to do for marketing purposes or other motivation is their decision.
Anyone who knows cars knows what a GT is, 812 is the epitome.

Now GT variants have certain limitations when it comes to service when Ferrari finds out owner used it hard on track-this is what I heard.
Ferrari suggests to use sports variants on track not gt.

So, I will slide my 812 until tire is gone on track(hopely they last 3 laps) when it arrives next week and see what they say :)

I think Ferrari has changed its product matrix since their capital days. I forget the categories now.

My take is perhaps the 812 is a little bit too intense to be considered a GT. I would call it a "Super GT" - we are, of course, splitting hairs. Either way, it is a wonderful car. I never dreamed we would see cars that are so powerful but also engaging, and also advanced and refined. Its really really impressive!

I recently ordered a proper race car because my ACR devours tires like they're cupcakes. It's absurd.
