    Hey all!

Have a 488 Spider.... Over the last few months the power steering has gotten LOUD.

Took it in to get checked out and they said it was normal at service.... but I don't know why normal would be so loud hah.

    Steering feel is normal.

    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

1500 miles on a 2018 488 and steering is silent. Loud is not normal.

What kind of noise does power steering make?

I'm not even trying to be sarcastic. I honestly have no idea.

My 488 was leaking power steering fluid at its first service and had to have the pump replaced (although I hadn’t noticed any extra noise, just harder to steer at low speed). Probably worth talking them into giving a new pump while still under warranty. The pump had to come from Italy as there weren’t any in the US - that could indicate either not much demand for them or too much, I’m not sure!!
    Best, Paul

Normal is standard word used nowadays to politely state it is too expensive to fix under warranty so please go away.

    Mine is silent btw.

Jump in your DD and with the engine running and the vehicle parked, turn the steering wheel to the full stop in either direction and then apply just a bit more turning pressure. You'll hear the pump groan and the hydraulic fluid rushing through the system.
