Was waiting for this. Thank you. Not liking the 'old man' crap either. Equivalent to the N word but not as narrow a target since absolutely everything with life ages even him. And the Pista remains well over priced with ridiculous qualifying demands. Losing +100k and the hassle of buying multiple cars at once is insulting to most that just really like the car. The dealers do it in the US to take advantage of would be buyers until later in production when the demand isn't there and the replacement hits. Same old story but with too high a base price for a car with same chassis and yet not an LE.
Again, I am not making any assumption here. How many of top 1%, 14 millions, of chiness population do you personally know? I need to know that objective data to judge the validity of your statements which have tendency to be presented as facts. That is a very fair question to ask, same as when one keeps talking about how certain car sucks, but if the person had never even driven that car before, then the statement is considered as opinion. So, you may have your own experiences in China, but to generalize it to the entire country of 1.4 billion is hard to swallow, unless again, I am convinced by some objective data. The question I asked provides last objective data actually. If you don't even bother to really back up objective data to your claim, then do me a favor (or everyone), please don't present them as fact because they may confuse others. We have enough of fake news today. Don't need fake posts. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts, unless you can back it up. Back to pista, looking at the results of different journals does illustrate one clear thing that is really hurting Ferrari - the combination of more inferior objective performance with the dealer game and higher msrp (with sticky buttons). Personally I think it's the dealer game that alienate people the most. Yes, we have to pay to play, but I am not interested to stroke any dealer's ego by thanking them for the gracious opportunity to buy two cars I don't want for another car. No car or toy is worth my ego. So used car market here I come!! Side note, imho, lambo and mcl dealers got this right by their way of treatment of customers.
Yeah thank god the mods stepped in and gave him time out for two days - (thank-you mods!!) should have banned him longer given his continued insults and incessant trolling. The off topic crap was just OTT - wasn't as if a new thread on EV couldn't have been started....preferably on the off topic section and well away from anything to do with Ferrari's new Pista - was an insult worthy of banning in itself. Anyway back to topic - that is if there is anything else left to add that hasn't already been hammered into the ground.
Would anyone here seriously considering a 458 Speciale? They are seriously cool to look at, but the price of entry is between 375 and 425. The one I sat in was much more aggressive and “special” feeling than the Pista Spider that I sat in. The all carbon fiber door panels, etc. Then again, I was told that the Pista could be specified as aggressively as the customer demands. The car I sat in was the Ferrari demo car so that is how they wanted it. To me, the interior was almost identical to the plain Jane 488.
A text book example by look of it sadly. I came across it on a TV documentary a year or so back - was quite interesting. I only hope and prey someone in his neighborhood can help the poor guy get on the road to recovery. Seems there are a lot out there these days in this condition. Anyway for now... Pista la vista! ...and back to topic!
Both great cars, glad someone is still making them without boy racer wings on them. ( I have 2x 3rs).

I’m am honestly curious to see how the Pista does long term. We know the Speciale has earned a special place in Ferrari lore. What will happen to Pista?
I assure you, its special. Setting aside all the analytical information, driving the car is incredible. It has all the Ferrari-ness we love x20. All the talk about turbos vs no turbos is gone from your mind the second you are in a Pista. There is NO turbo sensation. Zilch. It feels like a HUGE fast revving race motor. About to meet up with a local frient who has a Speciale for a little drive and pic session...
Traditionally options are dead money for resale. Will be interesting to see how a car with 22 percent of msrp of options does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It will be fascinating to know what value the extensive option list will bring to the second hand market down the road. $450k is a lot of coin, especially to buy second hand when a newer car will already have been sold. If supply/demand pressures bring second hand price down near to base car levels (375k-400k), I would expect Speciale’s to drop as well to near their base price (300k-350k), maybe? Speciale still more desirable long term due to n/a engine, so that is where I would probably invest in for a long term collectible purchase when the timing (and price) are right. Just my opinion right or wrong.
The one friend I have who is getting an early one from our dealer (with lusso) told me that he had to basically tick all the options... Trying to do a basic spec wasn't going to be allowed. I guess that makes sense. If you want a hot in demand car then dealer/ferrari want to maximize profit and low spec isn't going to work (in the early cars anyways).
