Nice car Greg. Love the sound. I think that car was owned by a certain furniture showroom owner in Mosman.
They're only your facts based on your fictional feelings (and the fact that you own the car in question), but any time you have to explain why and how it's a Porsche, it's not a Porsche. These are the cars people buy who can't afford a real Porsche so that they can tell people they own a Porsche. Like a 924, 944, 968, 928, 918.....ok...maybe not the 918
Started the fettling (not felching) this evening. The boot area smelt a bit fuelly and the fuel gauge was kaput. I pulled the cover off the sender unit and there was a puddle of fuel around it [emoji15] the plug to the sender had been disconnected as well. Dried it up, reconnected, nothing. In the meantime time, some fuel began to puddle again. Pulled out the sender unit, corroded around the flange area. Someone had put in an O ring, looked fresh, but had the wrong profile so never was going to work. Anyway, new parts are on the way, hopefully arrive late this week. New sender unit was surprisingly expensive at about $800. Once I have that in, I’ll go for a proper drive, then start dismantling the front and change the timing belts, water pump, plugs and everything else that looks dodge. The workshop manual arrived today, well written and illustrated so should help me sort the stuff they didn’t teach me at Medical School [emoji12] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My 944 Turbo fuel gauge is a little out too. This is the fix. Apparently. I’ve never bothered though because it’s probably only out by fewer than 10 litres or so. With an 80 litre tank, and thrifty consumption it’s never been an issue. Perhaps is a different issue as no leaks in mine. Let me know how you go please.
Yep, they get clogged and can be cleaned. Mine was corroded at the top hence the leak so needs replacement. When I get a chance I’ll take apart the old one, clean it and see if it works, I’ll post some pics
