You do realise concrete is actually one of the 'greenest' materials there is? Very low embodied energy, recyclable elements, zero toxicity. Sand, gravel and lime are more-or-less endless supply although sand supplies are now major bottlenecks in some places...
Well der, Greeks have always been trail blazers. The "Greek Broom" is a particular favourite https://www.betootaadvocate.com/headlines/marrickville-grandfather-debuts-flash-new-backyard-to-jealous-neighbours/
Lol! Once upon a time construction trades in Aus were pretty much along ethnic lines - Poms were brickies, Italian were tilers / stone, Greek concretors, Yugoslavs were gyprock and plaster, Aussies were carpenters, plumbers and electricians... German and Swiss had joinery.
Now the Lebos run the joint......Do I need council approval....No way bro I can just do it....Trust me.....
Hold it !! Italians have been leaders in concreting the WORLD, let alone the backyard ............ first thing my dad did when he bought his house was get rid of those stupid trees and grass and concreted the ENTIRE front and back yards !!!!!!!!!!! He thought of painting it green but decided the upkeep was too much trouble
Sadly, i was not seeing things, it does exist, and is real..... All we need now is a ute, because straya!

There was a white 400i stretch kicking around Brisbane in the eighties. Don't know what became of it.
