The V12 has been the pure essence of Ferrari for decades now. It is hard to believe Ferrari will discontinue the 599 / F12 / 812 series that sells well and only offer the V12 in multi million dollar bubble cars...
A v12 mid engine car in the range will be amazing news but I just need to stop dreaming , it won't happen ..

so the car in the video is different than the one pictured. There were some spy videos of a car, more similar to the one in the video yesterday posted in a german car group on FB based on the exhaust placement and the camo on the car. Interestingly enough, lexan rear and hybrid....fun times ahead.

458 was designed with a 4.5 liter engine now the 488 has a smaller 3.9 liter unit which is placed lower down the chassis compared to the 4.5 and the 3.9 is going to be continued in the replacement. I can't help but think this will help reduce the bulk of the rear end and should make for a very interesting design look.
*Except the bulk of the rear end was necessary for the added cooling that the turbo motor required compared to the older Italia motor. Flavio Manzoni the 488 designer was actually delighted that they had to make the 488 'bigger' than the old Italia...
I am current owner of 488 GTB and already have placed an order for replacement few weeks ago. My dealer just came from factory and told me that the substitute is going to be V8 with 720HP
