It seems a lot of people, 991 owners mostly, hate the 992, I myself like it. I bet most of the porsche owners who dislike it will end up buying one in the future.
first the panamera copied the 911 rear, now the 911 is looking like the panamera rear..design ping pong!
Lots of photos here. I like how they integrated the rear 3rd brake lights into the engine cover. Base price of $114K https://andoniscars.blogspot.com/2018/11/911-eighth-generation-of-icon.html
Its fine. They are making great cars. I keep driving all of them (in my price bracket) waiting for the one that makes me want it. Maybe this one? I hear the dash is all digitized now. Is that an electric shaver used for a shifter?
I lost interest when it no longer felt like a Porsche. I did my best. I'd have one if it did. Beautiful car
In the few pictures I've seen of the interior, looks too cluttered, too busy, not the spartan, purposeful cockpit of my beloved 997.2S. That shifter nub? Who thought that was a good idea?...T
my 997S was the coolest car I've ever owned. It was the end of 911's as I knew them. (It's also when the prices of older stuff took off....coincidence? I think not)
I think i will like it the car looks but maybe a little bulky from the rear view but after playing on the configurator that seems to desappear in darker colors... i suspect i will have to try one out eventually but for now happy with my 2015 991 GTS and my 2018 GT3 touring...
Current Cayman looks so much larger to me than the earlier generations. And, it's a 4 cylinder turbo. All for the sum of $60 - $110 K new. Maybe on the lower end, but not on the high end. If it were my money, I'd try to find a nice previous generation Cayman S...T
Starting to remind me of an Aston, I could live with the outside, but the interior is horrible. Not a fan, but I did not like the 991 when it first came out and I just bought one so who knows.
The evolution to being more of a GT car continues; bigger, more features, more “connectivity” to all media things not related to driving, plop into drive and drink your coffee on the way to the office. They see this as progress. As I age I’d see myself in a Macan since easier on back/hips with ingress/egress. What does the 911 of the future offer over that? It looks nice enough. Always amazed how they deliver speed with what seems like relatively “low” horsepower these days.
its definitely nice esp in the new brg with the weave fabric seats. like from a spec ed 911r. much more of a gran touring car now like 928 used to be. don't know how much it will weigh though. gt version is now the sports car 911. problem to me is pricing. with options cayman is now $100k and 911 is $150. im sure turbo will be well over $200k. to me, spend little more and get a mac, aston, or used Ferrari with warranty.
