One thing for sure: same chassis but new sheet metal with upgrades to brakes, engine, and one new technology = evolutionary. Completely new chassis with modular platform = revolutionary. F12 > 812s = evolutionary. 458 > 488 = evolutionary. Not hard to look at a Pista and see a 458 platform sitting there or look at an 812 and see an F12 sitting there. Take the bottom panels off and things will look very familiar.

Making all new cars from the same new modular aluminum chassis capable of supporting front or mid/front, V8 or V12 (or now perhaps V6), hybrid and non-hybrid, and metal or CF panels is the revolution Ferrari has been advertising and banking on. Of course, unless this thread is wrong. :)

Note that this is a way to paint a nice picture for the investors - the message is that Ferrari will make more money, and to make believe that there is a well defined plan to achieve that.
Personnally I am not convinced, but only time will tell and in the short term it's an efficient way to attract the investors and support the stock price.

Nice theory anyway. Right now in my geo the market is absolutely "on the nose" with no sales happening. Easy credit has gone. Lets wait and see what transpires in 2019 and beyond and how "upmarket" Ferrari can go when there are no customers willing to join them

For now they seem to be successful in overpricing the Pista.

Not sure about other markets but in Oz if you spec a 488gtb to what is standard on the Pista
The Pista is value and actually cheaper

100% if spec the 488 gtb with seats carbon inside and exterior engine carbon etc Pista is still a lot of coin but still cheaper. In OZ

You mean when no customers are "able" to join them. I am seeing this too and is on everybodys lips. Money is now very tightly held....nothing like how it was a year or so back. I certainly wouldn't want to be Ferrari opening a multimillion dollar brand new dealership and service centre in the current economic climate and, I can't see it getting any better with the change in govt just around the corner. I could see it getting a lot worse though.

.....and a whole range of new models won't mean much down here unless they are very very cheap.

Yup money is very very tight and there are quite a number of cars looking for a home. Plenty people being refused credit on cars.

Keen to know if this is the same globally or just our geo specifically.

Maybe but the volume stuff is drying up and they practically have to give away Lusso's. BTW: IMO this is not a Ferrari issue, its a general "supercar" issue - at least in my geo

Significant price increase and 60% hybrid points towards V8TT Hybrid slotting in above the 488
I'm guessing the 40% non hybrid points to V6TT and V8TT in multi model lines. These were
policies set in place by Sergio He's big on expanding great brands and getting a good return
on capital. Look at the way he leveraged Jeep ? Going forward (2020) I highly doubt if there's
gonna be a long wait on getting delivery of regular production Ferrari's - that just IMO

Yep there have been a ton of them looking for a home for a while now but the owners are either unwilling to meet the market or the buyers genuinely only have bottle tops to use as coin.

I too wonder if this situation is becoming a global issue with so much going on out there in the political landscape.

Increased interest rates aren't helping, especially on expensive cars like a Ferrari.

To the post about new models, they've already introduced 6 of them:
    Portofino
    Pista
    Pista Spider
    Pista Piloti
    SP 1
    SP 2

488 replacement is still another year and change out, being a hybrid seeing the mule running around. With Pista just being released and hitting showrooms now, they have demand to continue production for a bit well on to next year. Expect to see replacement timed around a few months following the reveal of the 720LT (whatever it'll be called). Keep a note it's an increase in "average" selling price. SP 1/2 and Pista are certainly on that route.

It just depends how your looking at it. It seems Ferrari are telling us basically that all prices are going up and there’s not really a direct replacement. You could say the 488 is being replaced by two cars, one in price, and one in cylinder count. It seems the closest in price will be the rear mid V6. The next rear mid V8 will be much higher priced. The V6 488 replacement should be announced in March. The next V8 will be a little ways off.

This makes far more sense. Couldn't imagine 488's replacement being announced as early as next March with Pista just released.

5 years per model change is what I was told and my dealer is sticking firm to that story.

Yes that is 'big brother' the FL model and it is being previewed this month and then the public gets to see it at Geneva this coming March 2019.

The 488 replacement 2020 version will then appear as a V8TT at the Frankfurt Auto Show in mid September 2019.

How do you know that? If they weren't concerned they wouldn't be here.....least of all investing millions on new quarters.

Oh. Thought you were able to share some or, knew something we didn't..

Agree we are just a blip on the radar in comparison to other markets but thought it odd how they were spending up big on new quarters... Maybe it's just a move made at the wrong time not anticipating the recent down turn here.
