What happened? I took the dog out for a walk. Bolts tied it...T
I flew over the new LA Stadium today coming into LAX. It's finally taking a shape and looks amazing. The Forum where the Lakers and Kings used to play is still there right next to it (its used for concerts now) but looks so TINY. This place is just huge
That $17 million for Bell looks like a bargain now. I bet the Steelers would pay double that for him right about now
So let's see who Ben blames for yesterday's loss. Afterall, he didn't throw a red zone INT and miss a wide open receiver streaking to the endzone
OK. Bear with me here. This is not a rant. You guys know I don't pick on officiating, but something has to be done about defensive pass interference. In y'day's TB-Carolina game, there was a PI call against Caro on a 50+ yard throw into the end zone (first half I think). I am NOT a Panthers fan and in fact had TB on the money line. A very iffy (the TV analyst called it clearly no foul and moaned about it for two minutes) PI call goes against Caro, ball is placed on 1 yd. line. It's a 52 yard penalty (half a football field). TB runs it in next play. I think P.I. should be changed to a max 15 yd. penalty. Distance of throw assumes a catch if not for PI, not always a certainty. The severity of these calls, especially when marginal at best, dramatically alters the game, and affects integrity of the NFL's product. And now, back to our regular programming
^Agreed. Almost every game I listened to yesterday had at least one call that an announcer thought "cheap", "marginal", "questionable," etc. Then, you add the F-chatter on games I did not listen to, and it seems there is an upswing in questionable calls of late. Interesting that this seems to coincide w/ the NFL's "all-star refereeing" stunt for the KC-LAR game a few weeks back...T
Partying with young hoochies this stuff is going to happen. In this day and age something like that doesn't go away and the videos will come out. Even if your buttons are pushed you have to keep your cool. Hunt didn't, bad mistake.
Crazy...is AP the only guy in the league still wearing a Riddell VSR4 helmet? It's the last good looking helmet imo. I know Brady wore it last season, but since upgraded.
Could be. Seems like a few may be grandfathered in. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/04/16/nfl-bans-tom-brady-helmet-style/ T
This has been discussed but the reason they have to leave PI as a spot foul is because if they change it to 15 yard penalty then the defense will always take the deliberate PI on deep balls knowing they will only be giving up 15 yards. You can imagine how disastrous that would be for the NFL.
MacCarthy is better than average. DEN and CLE would be lucky to have him. So would OAK but that is a moot point.
GB may have done MacCarthy a favor by firing him. Assume he will still be paid. He won’t have to face the press and fans for the next four weeks. They will blame him for every mistake and get none of the credit. He can look for another job...CLE comes to mind.
