Do the engines ingest debris with an EMAS surface? Especially with a 737...

Probably most debris is behind the main gear, but not the nosewheel?

Didn't a Southwest flight end up in a gas station parking lot in Burbank years back?

How long will it take to excavate that plane out of there? It must take a while and that runway won't be in operation until that is out. Maybe they'll even keep it closed (hopefully) until the new stopping material gets put down there since that airport is prone to those incidents.

Exactly the same spot, in fact, except that since the first accident, they removed the gas station.

It was really wet and slick when we took off from Ontario yesterday. I was thinking I really hoped he did not need to abort.

I saw this happen to a B-24 at Langley Field in 1945. He didn't land too long but he made the mistake of getting on the brakes and immediately started to hydroplane. Completely out of control and the airplane ran across a railroad spur and between the BOQ buildings. Totalled it.

Looks like the EMAS did a pretty good job. [emoji1360]
