"One of only three in existence"...typical auction house B.S. Have they never heard about Lorenz and Renkel in Germany? There are at least two dozens others like that... Rgds
Scrolled through the pictures and definitely not something I would do or purchase but I would like to see pictures of the soft top In place? Provided there is such a thing? Would be interesting if they had a hatch behind the seats, similar to a 63 vet that opens and closes to store a soft top and structure.
Chopping the top really emphasizes just how much of the car is behind the driver. I don't want one but I think it looks kinda cool.
Wonder if the last two photos (of the different color car) are from the coach modifier's catalog? Have to agree with Patrick that removing the C-pillars from the 308B/S coachwork is a styling loss. It is a carbed 308 though - so that's a plus.
Rather eat glass. Sorry imho bespoke and begone. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I never thought the 308 could pull off convertible. Oddly is a gorgeous closed automobile that just doesn't have what it takes to be any other way. Unlike a Daytona. That car kicks ass both ways.
I really dig it...like MAGA...purists' heads explode! I always wanted to do it to a Merak... Image Unavailable, Please Login

That's the 328 Spider prototype, former Motor S.p.A. property: it was the Ferrari official dealership in Modena and they got it from Ferrari in 1990 Ciao
There is a soft top indeed, but not pretty at all when in place, utilitarian, just to close the car. No butresses like the one made by the factory for the 328 prototype. The Lorenz and Renkel brochure for the 308 conversions can usually be found rather easily, especially on E-Bay Germany, for those interested. Rgds
The factory tested it extensively at the end of 1984 and the beginning of 1985, and from what I have read was satisfied with it; but ultimately they decided not to start serie production, because they feared it would kill the "Mondial Cabriolet" sales, which was the only "Mondial" version that was selling well in the US. Very much like the look of that 328 cabriolet! With top up of course. Probably feel differently with it stored.
Here is one: https://www.ebay.de/itm/LORENZ-RANKL-Ferrari-308-328-Cabrio-sehr-schones-Prosp-blatt-fast-wie-neu/312358517442?hash=item48ba04bac2:g:~jAAAOSwtRlbkoTZ
Probably a former prototype/mule of something then abandoned in the factory yard and finally rescued to do that 328 cabrio prototype. ciao
