Interestingly the initial allocations aren't sold out just yet which is why I can get one quickly. I believe many prefer the coupe.
I don’t think Mclaren is in the business of selling out. 600lt is readily available. Now spider. I think Mac just wants to get their cars out there.
...and why depreciation is so horrendous. If they could strike a balance it would help the brand in the long term. But they are wrapped up in their xx models by xx time frame. Pump and dump--but they are amazing cars either way.
720S residuals are among best in class for the price as long as you don't spec $100K in CF... 2016 570S with higher mileage are like $150K, which is like $60K under MSRP after 3 years, also quite normal.
Dude I know the market (some of us here actually buy new cars)...my point was around exclusivity and demand. Don't conflate the two. Take care.
Then why aren't you happy being able to buy the cars you want with no fuss? There 300 pages of people crying about Pista allocations. If you can afford the car, why do you want it to be more of a hassle to get? There's no shortage of multi-million dollar cars if you want truly exclusive and rare cars... $250-300K doesn't buy you "exclusive" exotics. The Enzo was 650K, the CGT was $450K... The PIsta and SVJ will be nearly those prices.
You're already wasting your time whining about exclusivity of entry level exotics... McLaren has now proven that their models have similar exclusivity, similar production volumes, higher performance, and comparable residuals to Lamborghini. They've existed for like 7-8 years. I'd say they're doing just fine as a brand. Performantes piling up on dealer lots and readily available at MSRP since day one, many were even available in dealer inventory. What's the problem? 2018, barely used 1K miles, best car they've made in decades (or so people say), and it's $50K under sticker asking. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/755029687/overview/
That is true, timing is the only wild card. If you want a car quickly you need to find an early allocation or wait a 2-3 months.
