I just removed the Novitec Exhaust system on my 2006 F430 due to the noise level. I installed a factory system with the cut out vacuum valves. I have a few questions about the system that I am sure someone will know the answers to. Does the switch on the steering wheel (race to sport) operate the valves manually? Do they open at a certain RPM? And yes it is much quieter. Thanks for any help. Tom

No, the switch does not open and close the valves, but it can have an affect on how the system opens and closes the valves. Here are charts that show you when the valves open on the F430. The Motronic 7.1.1 system looks at rpm and throttle position/engine load, as well as Manettino setting, to tell the bypass solenoid when to shut off the vacuum flow to the pneumatic valves and open them. F430 bypass valves are fail open (spring loaded open), while some older Ferraris have fail closed valves (spring loaded closed).

Thank you for your response, so it is safe to say that if all systems are working correctly the valves should be open at 3000 RPM and above? The engine load percentage is confusing me a little, how would a monitor the engine load? Regards, Tom

Since you are back to OEM, you might want to consider this remote controller built by one of our F-chatters if you want to be able to control the loudness when you want

I have the capristo valve control system with a remote if you are interested in controlling when the valves are open outside of the normal conditions. I installed it for one season before buying a capristo exhaust with no valves.

Thomas- No, that is not what the chart shows unless you are talking about wide open throttle. If you had said 6000 rpm, that would be correct. Engine load is mostly based on throttle setting and rpm, easy things to measure with an electronic throttle and tach.
