Hi Mike. It's a simple question that does not require a phone call, especially in light of the engine out service which can cost 10-15K. I have owned 3-4 TR's, all 85-86's. Looking for another.

It's not "afraid",... it's that ANYTHING can be said over the phone that can't be verified....putting something in print can be relied on much more, than hearing it. I buy 3-4 cars a year, but I NEVER buy a car without getting all the particulars in print, either text, email, etc I almost bought a 328 on this forum and was "told" it was perfect, low miles, no problems whatsoever.etc, I was even sent a year old Carfax that looked perfect..... only to find out there was a mileage discrepancy listed by Carfax after the year old Carfax was provided to me.... I only discovered that after I pulled the current Carfax.....Of course, I was TOLD that was a Carfax problem, and not really a mileage discrepancy. I wouldn't rely on anything someone says over the phone about a car purchase.
