Awesome Steve.....Glad you have her back on the road....If the waterpump is good on the 550 when I get time to pull it off, I'll have a similar problem.....

 

Basically it's a radiator cap with a hole in it that allows you to put a funnel into it. You fill up the funnel with water until its half full and that creates 1 bar of pressure. When the car is running it allows the air escape through the water in the funnel while still maintaining 1 bar of pressure. It's called a no spill funnel as it has a plunger in it. So once you have finished you push the plunger down its seals it off in the funnel and you can remove it without spilling anything. I will find my Ebay link I purchased it from and post it as you buy it as a kit. We used it on my friends 328 last night and we got heaps of air out of that as well. I was running better temps after out test drive

Weird. There's meant to be air under the cap - it's on an expansion tank.

 

I actually don't understand why that would work. In a 308, for example, air gets trapped at the radiator and thermostat. How does this stop that?

No traffic at 7am incidentally

 

I've done 700+km the last few days. I love my car! I can confirm that 35 degrees is just a bit on the hot side with these cars. The engine temperature is fine, but the cabin temperature is starting to be uncomfortable, and I'm a sensitive little flower. In future I won't bother taking it for a drive if it's over high 20s.

 

Borrow Steves car.....Targa top ,fast gearbox and red carpets.....Match made in heaven for hot days......

355s do have good Aircon though
