You're partly right PP. TR's were all tourist delivery, ordered through an Australian dealer, then picked up at the factory, driven around Europe for a minimum period (I think it was 3 months, Scott will know) then brought to Australia as a personal import. The original issue was that the leaded fuel euro spec motor couldn't pass Aussie emissions but we had no unleaded available for the US spec motor, thus no ADR compliance for TR's. The majority (if not all) Australian ordered cars spent only summer months in Europe, so no salted roads. Some went from the factory into storage in Italy, while the owners lived in the UK serving out the minimum period. The well known yellow TR in NSW was an example of this. It is pristine underneath. This contrasts with UK delivered TR's which, even with minimal use, would be exposed to salt and pervasive damp. I've been up close to half a dozen of them and most had rust issues. Behind the shiny bodywork is a maze of square section tubing with no effort at rust proofing beyond a haphazard hose-over with satin black paint. So an Australian-ordered car should command a premium over a UK ordered car, no matter how much UK import TR owners dismiss this.
Actually, that makes me completely right. There's no such thing as an Aussie spec or delivered testarossa.

I believe there is a TR in Brisbane that's very rarely seen (not a club member) that was brought in new as a 21st birthday present. Italian manufacturing family. Rarely driven, but I don't think he'll ever sell it either.
