Espada Series 1 and 2 Correct Grill Material

Hello Everyone,

I have heard several opinions as to the correct grill material for a Series 1 / Series 2 Espada.
The late Series 2 and Series 3 cars are quite different and easy to tell apart from the earlier cars.

Is the woven wire the correct original grill or was it made of some form of expanded metal?
I've provided a few photos for reference.

Please let me know your thoughts and please share photos if you have them.

Does anyone on here own a series 1 or series 2 Espada?
I am looking for any information or photos pertaining to the grills on these cars.

At the end of 1969 at the so called Interimsmodel (between 1&2) Lamborghini experimented with a plane perforated sheet metal (with square hole pattern of approx. 4mm).

Being a matter of individual taste, IMHO the woven grill suites the Espada best and supports the idea of a rough open mouth with "thrown in" head lamps best - contrary to the extremely elaborated design of the rest of the car.

Furthermore it is worth to mention that some cars (S1, S2) had beneath the headlamps small grills in addition to the center grill. Some had above the headlamps a closed sheet metal assuming to protect the AC heat exchanger.

The black material shown on the white S1 car is called "diagonally woven double intermediate crimp wire cloth with 3 crimps". It is regular raw material for fences. Simply look up "wire cloth" or "space cloth" (if you are in Germany "Wellengitter") and you will find it...
