Seems like a lot of talk about depreciation and people waiting for the 458 to get to about 150k. And I'm not talking a beater 458 or an odd color combo, etc., but a well cared for red/tan/blk or blk/blk/tan 458 with under 25k miles or so.

I look at auto trader way too often and it seems like a lot of these 458's are sitting for several weeks and even months.

I'm getting more excited about starting my shopping for real and wanted a quick check in to see if the 150k 458 is a reality yet.

There's one in naples low miles 2010 red been asking $179k for a long time, im sure they'd take 160-165 for it. So its close, the cars nice but these newer cars its hard to buy out of warranty, too many computers to fail. The older Ferraris dont have those issues.

I have heard a couple, even months ago the actual sales price would have been $160k or even lower.

There's a bunch of 458's between 150-160k . Just depends on what color you want and how picky you are. There's one for 137K with 47 K on it but it does look a little rough . Most of the ones available will be 2010- 2011.

I sold my 2012 Nero/ Nero spider 21,000 miles 9 months ago privately, not to a dealer with a 335 list for 170. So I’m sure you could find a nice 150k coupe no problem. And if you are thinking that was cheap , I was offered less from the dealer. Best ,Kirk.

I've wondered how much the market affects the prices too. My investments are down a little over 9% since I bought my 458 in August. So if the 458 market isn't down 9% from August, I then my purchase was made at a good time.

Point being, a 150k 458 today is 9% more expensive for me than it was in August. So unless you've kept 150k in cash, you might now be looking for a 135k car.

I’m just waiting for a few stock grants to vest. Sure it’s down from the high of $450 but it’s currently at 325 and I’m in at $16.

Who knows where it will be in June but I’m certainly hoping it’s 458 territory or even 430 (which my mind says is a better choice).

All I know is every time I see a 458 I literally can’t help but stop and stare.

I’ve been looking daily for another 458. It seems there are quite a few for sale and they’re not moving. Same cars for sale for months and months. Be patient and you’ll find the right one.

I’d like to get one, but this issue of computers is concerning. What’s the reality of having after market / non factory fixes for these cars anytime soon?

I’m probably in a different position than most on here. I’ll more than likely keep this for a 12-18 months. I can’t tie up 150k+ in a car long term.

If anyone is afraid of computers you probably need to buy a bicycle because everything domestic and imported is fully computerized . Pick and older model LOL ! Back to the topic at hand . The nice 150k 458 is on the horizon . I just need to figure out why people are kind of down on the 2010- 2011 models.

If the stock market continues to creator it may be very soon. There are already several under $150k but likely you have already seen those and disqualified for one or another reason. Also it seems the lower priced cars are base cars with less options as would be expected.
Check the one at: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/755174858/overview/ it seem to be generally what you are looking for?

Wow. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Red/tan or red/blk is what I will hopefully purchase. I’m not too picky on options as long as the lack of options wouldn’t hurt resale.

Anyway, that’s the first time I’ve seen that car! Just awesome.

    Come on June!!!

The 458 is one of the most reliable Ferrari's ever made. I've heard dealer service managers say it's a service killer meaning it's that reliable. My buddies 13 has been bullit proof.

I've seen that black one for sale for a month, two or even 3? I better get in the seat of a 430 and a 458 and try to make somewhat of an educated decision on my purchase. 8 years ago I bought a 360 sight unseen, never even sat in a Ferrari before and absolutely loved the car!

I've got 5 months before I can make a purchase. With 5 months before being able to buy, I don't want to waste a dealership's time and request to test drive a 430/458. However, at what point am I a serious buyer and ask to drive these cars? How do I go about walking into a dealership and asking to test drive a car I can't buy until June?

    TIA.

I called on that car today . The salesman was real nice and called me back later in the day saying someone had put a deposit on it LOL !! It had some odd problem I wasn't sure I understood that he said would be rectified by the correct size tires.

6 owners, accident history, salvaged title. 147k is way too expensive for a car in such condition

Do you older guys remember that Giallo Tristrato 458 Coupe with the black interior and race seats with the yellow inserts, yellow stitching and yellow belts? I know it was years ago but it was for sale here and changed hands a couple times among FChaters. I think it was something like $250K or $260K back then. I don't remember the model year but that was a great 458 and wonder if it has 8K miles or so what it would go for now. Simply stunning as I remember it. Some tasteful complimentary carbon I think. Not your average used Ferrari.

Lol. Wayne Michigan is not a city you want to buy a Ferrari in. It would be like buying jewelry from a pawn shop.

    Buyer beware.
