Bumpy Road = Happy daily driver !

All the power and performace I would ever need on the street w the added comfort of dampened imperfect surfaces

    What Andrew said.
If I'm giving a ride, RACE mode.

For my 488, I’m almost always in Sport for spirited drives. Stay in Auto until the engine warms up / I get out of town, then switch to manual and have a blast. Have done Race a few times but frankly Sport is fine.

Agree re: bumpy road (which just switches the suspension settings to Wet) — it’s great when I’m driving back into town and cooling down.

It’s whatever mode you feel comfortable to be in without killing ur self... some of my friends never get out of sports (even on track), I never go any lower than race + manual because that’s a nice balance for me doesn’t mean it works for u...

I was always in Race +/- bumpy road mode.
Now I am CT Off +/- BRM.

    Why?

Does the bumpy road mode button really work? I've never tried it.
I drive in race mode because I love the sound.

  19. "Normal street driving" in a Ferrari 488 is an oxymoron.

Bumpy road setting does not just make for a better ride. We were on a back road drive recently and the road got rough. Switching to bumpy road actually increased rebound damping, so the car bounced less, making it more stable and enhancing handling.

I use wet mode and auto until I get outside of hearing range of immediate neighbors, wet mode because the throttle is less sensitive and easier to modulate. Sport in normal driving, but race mode on twisty roads or track, mainly to keep wear down on the brakes, especially the rears. You may not feel it, but the stability system can work the brakes pretty hard without you noticing anything other than amazing grip. That “forgiving” handling comes at a price. I don’t find any desire to turn CST off. It’s not intrusive and a good safety net.

Race is good if the tires are cold. CT Off once the tires are warm. Race mode is awesome, but CT Off is addictive. No help until I actually need it. [emoji6]

I’m now curious about what so special with CT off. I only drove my newly acquired 458 a few times before it went to winter storage. What’s “addictive”...the drifting in cornering?

yes...power out, wheels spinning..car is almost telepathic. No nasty snap backs as long as you are smooth with the inputs. On a side note...you will destroy your rear meats really quick. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here are few of my stable. I always lead in the 458. My kids drive the Performante and the RUF Turbo....
