Does the Harbor Freight Fuel Pressure Tester work for our cars

Does anyone know if the Harbor Freight Fuel Pressure tester has all the fittings required to test our CIS systems?

Don't have that particular testing unit, and no idea if it works.

You might consider borrowing one from a parts store. Places like O'Reilly's, AutoZone, and PepBoys will loan you one free of charge. It's not the sort of tool you need to purchase, unless you're a professional tech doing it on regular basis.

 

The answer is YES, the Harbor Freight tester has all the fittings to test our K-Jetronic injection systems.

 

please someone make a video of how to use it. Where is the test port or where does it splice in?

,Replace the feul pump and accumulator which are $00 bmw parts,as is filter
its not really expensive and that little corner down there is VIP,best when new and pristine

Whatever it is, it's going to get worse after Harbor Freight tools are used!

HF pressure check tool will work in a pinch.
Check screens in WUR and make sure their clean before you do a pressure check.

Ferrari owner / Harbor freight tools. Something just doesn't sound right.............

 

Why not for rarely used tools?
An expensive high quality tool doesn't auto automatically make a highly skilled mechanic.
As well as a owning Steinway Grand piano doesn't make a great piano player.

For the cambelt drive bearings job, for instance, I can choose between a $300.00 and a $25.00 puller set. Both work for a job, which probably has to be performed once, maximum twice during ownership.

I have the HF fuel pressure kit and did all the readings with it on my 328 a few years ago.

Re tool quality - I was always a big Snap-On user back in my engine building days but now I have a mix of various brands of tools and, TBH, I don't see any practical difference in most cases, In fact, I prefer other brand ratchets to the Snaps because of the socket release button which none of my SO ratchets have. HF stuff seems perfectly OK to me for general use. OTOH, I wouldn't buy a torque wrench from HF (or any place else that doesn't provide a certificate of accuracy for THAT particular torque wrench by serial number).

And I can confirm what Martin stated: I have a Steinway Grand Piano but I suck as a piano player! I also have a Martin D28 guitar with the same problem... (both left to me when my father passed away)

 

For occasional use, Harbor Fright tool is barely acceptable. For constant use, even the middle of the road Craftsman tools are no good anymore. I do have a number of supplier tools in my cabinet and I have learned what not to buy from whom. Don't buy... aluminum jacks from HF, they don't last more than a few months of use.

As for the HF pressure tester, if it has a screw on fitting, then it works.

Here is a list of tools NOT to buy:

Aluminum jacks from HF, they squeak, they bend, and they will kill you if they go. This is life saving equipment, go high end.
Standard ratchets from Sears (they are going out of business, and they only give you a used ratchet to replace the one you broke). The very top of the line Sears stuff, polished ratchets are OK.
Any electronic torque wrenches from anybody. They last exactly 1 day beyond the warranty, and then they die and it's a constant hassle looking for batteries when they do work

What can you buy from HF?
any percussion instrument, ah implements, like hammer, brass drifts, mallets,

I bought my CIS pressure gauge set from Pelican Parts. Decent quality and had all the fittings for the job.
