There was a suggestion that SVs had 9" rears, and I'm simply restating that, for concours purposes, narrow rears may be correct as "factory delivered" upon inspection of period photos. From the story I've been told, the factory did not get the original owner a set of 9" rims later, he had to go get them himself. I'll re-ask him to get an elaboration, in case it's me who mis-remembers the story.

Agree its entirely unlikely this SV came with those wheels as pictured - but for my part, I was in itch in my fathers pants when many of these cars were delivered, so I can truthfully say I was not there to witness some of what others have claimed about their cars.

Non matching numbers. Has engine 30692 from from 4992. Another one missing its distributor shroud. Red cam covers.

That explains the 1.7 number. Should be more interesting now :) Wonder what happened to the original engine.

Yes, interesting why the engine was swapped and I wonder if a repatriation of matching engines has ever been pursued between 4976 and 4992, both US spec cars, if 4976's engine 30698 is in 4992 of course? Not quite a one owner car, owned since 1973.

Image Unavailable, Please Login Does 4992 still exist? The Miura register says it's owned by an "American collector" and has a couple photos. Would be interesting to know which engine it has.

Yes, in Illinois, lives with my former LP400 1120192 which I sold the same collector, don't know what engine 4992 has as he bought that car himself.

Correct, sold for $610k in 2006 but the car I refer to with the chassis frame member replaced is not 4992 but another SV that sold at auction that weekend.

Any special backstory on John's Miura S in Blu Spettrale Metallizzato? He noted that's it a 1 of 4 example. I love the blue over silver combo.
