Don't forget the Valkyrie (another car that's not out yet but has been hyped by many since day one, along with the AMR Pro).

488 replacement will be displayed this year, but no Idea if Geneva or later. A V8TT hybrid engine will be on the production line this year. They are developing an all new V6 hybrid engine, that won't be ready for production this year. They are developing a 4WD mid engine car with just Electric engines on the front axle, that will be on the production line within 2020 or even at the end of this year. All new Ferrari will be hybrid.

    ciao

The gap does get smaller, the LaFerrari was launched 6 years ago, after all. But much of it has to do with tyre technology and the grip they provide off the line. Let 's wait and see what the 488's Big Brother brings.

0-100 kph is all about traction. Now try 0-200 and let 's see what happens. ;)

Not really, even though the GTO had an 8 year advantage over the Enzo in tyres, electronics and gearbox tech: https://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/jiumzimuiadl

Do you need HANS to move on in this car?It doesn't even look like a road car. Its design has definitely its pros and cons :D. I hope the BB will present a much nicer approach to super-performance car design.

Top speed - over 250 mph (Tesla model S). They are not trying to be conservative with the top speed numbers. Ferrari quotes "over 217 mph" for LaF. We know it is a conservative number for LaFerrari. Looks like Ferrari loses again. So I need a Tesla - to get faster to my office. But I like the prancing horse on the bagde. So? I need to wait for BB - a cheaper faster LaFerrari :D.
[I had to edit my remark about Tesla's sign. But I prefer the prancing horse logo really.]

As long as you are happy to pay 10X for the LaF replacement compared to the Tesla Roadster - all is good :)

BTW: I would if offered one

Try both of those with any F12 :) Its politically OK to surpass the LaF as its out of production and the next hyper will leapfrog back.

You are talking about an imaginary future car, that doesn't even exist presently. Now, let's talk 0-200 or 0-300 kph of existing cars, verified by independent publications.

So, the BB will have electric driven front axle. Interesting. I hope Ferrari will have better solution to this than Porsche with their 918.
PS. It will be a tough thing to convince me to AWD feel of mid-engined car.

@Shack: I didn't see anyone else bringing up future cars, that may, or may not, reach production and their performance aspirations.

Did this thread just get merged? I swear I've seen some of these posts like weeks ago. Serious case of deja vu otherwise...

Thanks a lot! I'm guessing the interior won't be revolutionary i.e. digital display, HUD, etc.

Yup I like being an individual :) - Honestly @REALZEUS who cares. I will buy what floats my boat and historically and presently that's been Ferrari. I have tried most brands and they each have their own unique "thing". If I like/want that thing they get my $'s

So Ferrari is going all hybrid. McLaren has claimed the same. All hybrid by 2020. The Aventador replacement will be hybrid so it seems Lamborghini is following suit. Point being is that we are all witnessing the end of the last production pure ICE Supercars. Many here have speculated that the last NA cars will be coveted. I’m guessing the last pure ICE cars will be even more desirable.

I wrote what they are developing, but I don't know what they are mixing up. For example the powertrains could be actual V8 for the 488 replacement, V8 Hybrid RWD for the "BB", V6 Hybrid 4WD next year. Unfortunately I don't know the powertrains allocations. What I know is that a V8 TT hybrid is (sometimes) already visible in the assembly line

The thing about electric cars and hyperbolic numbers, is that they have some limits. Read the C&D test of the P90:
"Maximum acceleration is available only when the battery's state of charge is above 95 percent and 'max battery performance mode' is set on the control screen." They also said they had to wait "at least three minutes" between each run (batteries overheated constantly and had to cool down).

We know the new V8 car will have a whole new cabin and, per Ferrari's presentation, it will have new features like HUD. It would make sense to carry them over onto the 488 successor.
