https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1988-FERRARI-TESTAROSSA-225590 I am no longer in the TR market but this is nice. Doesn't show any service records. Obviously no online records affects the bids
Sounds very fishy to me. A grey market car calling it an 88 with a January 86 VIN. Has TRX wheels proper for a January 86 car but with low mirrors? It also has ugly seat covers covering the trashed seats. 3500 miles my butt. Car is a dog.
has this car been converted to a dual low mirror? Also, what are those two metal things by the front cylinder plenum intake? I don't recognize those. It looks to have an aftermarket alarm/radar detector of some sort.
Must have been. Dual mirror cars came out much later. Its has a bunch of stereo and radar crap. Don't know what metal things you are asking about. Except for the usual federalization butchery I see nothing unusual under the hood except it is wat too dirty for a 3500 mile car. European version had a different fuel injection system. You may be looking at a component US cars don't have. If you are going to lie about a car to sell it at least try and make it believable. .
Hmmmm... ZFFTA17B000062111 Over 180,000 Km before it left europe? The 8th digit ‘B’ indicates a Euro car ‘A’ indicates the US market Image Unavailable, Please Login https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/ZFFTA17B000062111 Image Unavailable, Please Login
115,000 miles is far more believable than 3500. Be interesting to see the importation documents and see what those say. That VIN is listed in Mathais Urbans serial number book and cars that spent their life hidden away like a 32 year old car with 3500 miles is would not have found its way in there.
It's an early euro TR with an F113A engine (K-Jet without Lambda and with WURs) -- very similar to a BB512i, but with a better ignition system . The quality (or ill-quality) of the US federalization would be a concern.
It figures that this car would be a scam as well ! A lot of crooks out there selling 30 year old cars. Have yet to see an honest one, actually
Odd that the barret Jackson auction would have such a large disconnect between the car and information regarding it
If the info shown above is correct, it reflects poorly on BJ. That said however, I have never heard BJ claim (???????) that they research and verify the cars they sell.
