Looks like the 25th at the Mecum auction today in Florida went for $215,000 hammer/$236,500 with reserve. Market is defiantly showing softness.

It's a data point for sure but auctions are often hit or miss. However, it fell within their estimated range.

It would be great to know. But, it is a low miles car from a collection which could likely suggest its in pretty good condition. That said, the photos are awful.

Why does the description say “believed to have 8k kms...”

Might as well have just said “the odometer was rolled back so no idea how many kms”

I agree, but a subset of auction results are really the only gauge we can count on. It seems few really trust what value guides have to say and we all know asking prices say little about final sale prices, so one has to assess the market somehow.

I totally agree. The issue with valuation is always difficult due to private sales which in many cases can be top of market. You know this well.

They did at the Rick Cole auction in Monterey, August of 1990. The $450K hammer price created a brief upsurge in Anniversary prices while the rest of the market was in sharp decline.

Their way of tactfully saying buyer beware & we don't take responsibility for any misrepresentations.

    hammer price is the app-
    feb 10 2017 - $345k for acapulco blu
nov 26 2016 - red with 35kms went for $462k- clearly either a fishy (money laundering) or drunk billionaire
    oct 31 2015 - kla12499 went for $343 - cant see mileage
    august 2015 - kla12973 went for $418 - cant see mileage

if i were a buyer id be confidant i cld buy a car meeting my expectations for under 300k. ive turned down 275k for mine and feel comfortable id buy mine at 275k if i didnt own it today.

Interesting enough that one seems fair. However, Hagerty is an absolute joke with valuations. Again, they can only gather public sale numbers, not private. Many Countach's likely sell via auction (certainly not all)

Sounds like that was a little before your time.

Correct, I remember it well, and as a Countach owner I thought it would not end well, it didn't.

Even in 1990, I thought, surely the 25th cannot possibly be correctly appraised as the most valuable Countach variant.

As I mentioned on the other thread, they could have spent some time cleaning this car up a bit better. It looked a bit rough sitting there, sagging mirrors and all.
