Me either. They’re all basically the same. Qantas are just lucky there’s a certain % of people whom will only fly Qantas because of some imagined superiority.
Actually I did recently buy a ludicrously expensive pair of thongs. Must have been drunk. The only good thing about them is they have a beer opener on the sole...
Well which airline hasn't had a burn in ? Lots of near misses but if it's good enough for Dustin Hoffman it's good enough for me
None of the four that have been mentioned. And I won’t mention the 747 in Bangkok, which was actually a complete write-off but Qantas fixed it just so they could keep that record so gullible people would keep repeating the Dustin Hoffman line...
No, only Jetstar is completely unreliable - only airline in the world I won't consider (and knowing how much time I spent on the old CAAC and Garuda flights, that's saying something!)
Hi Steve I fly Qantas exclusively in OZ and they are my preferred option OS I use other OneWorld airlines overseas if Qantas doesn't go where I need to be. It has nothing to do with imagined superiority - it's just that they have never given me any grief, the on board service is generally very good, they are rarely late and I have never been cancelled. I also maintain my WP status which does bring a few perks with it I can't comment on the local competition, but from what I hear from fellow travellers I am sticking with QF I would rate OS carriers as follows (Out of 10) - Qantas 9 Cathay 9 - best HK lounges - no need to eat on the plane! Malaysian 7 - 9 for service but they stuffed up my schedules out of Perth British 7 Emirates 9 Qatar 7 AA 5 LATAM 4 China Eastern 4 Shanghai Air 5 Delta 2
Malaysian 7-9? What about the flights where the pilot goes nuts and ditches in the Indian Ocean? Or flies over a war zone?
I can only say - like PP - I’ve flown all the domestic carriers and never had a major issue with any of them. I flew Qantas over here (to Dallas) and it’s the first time in forty years of flying that my bags have been lost. Despite being told they’d be delivered to my hotel within 5-6 hours they actually took 30 hours to show up. No big deal, but it’s the kind of thing that when it happens on other airlines some people go into meltdown and rant how they’re never flying that airline again blah blah... **** happens on all airlines, and in my view there’s nothing special about Qantas.

The cancellation of flights with Jetstar has been the issue with me, a few times and just hopeless. Other annoyances are the terminal they use in Melbourne which is a long walk to the rental car pick up, long queue at checkin with inefficient bag drop off process, longer queue at boarding due to weighing of onboard luggage at gate and having to listen to bogans complain about their overweight onboard luggage being rejected because they were too fkn tight to pay extra for checked luggage. Thongs and singlets are a deal breaker too Qantas makes everything easy
Ditto ....... although I am a bogan I refuse to carry any more than a handkerchief on the plane I hate those bastards who carry on refrigerators and hog all the overheads delaying the take-off
Going well thanks Gary. Did the ground school exam yesterday and have just started the sim stuff. I have about another seven sessions then the final FAA exam and check-ride.
One of the guys on the course saw this one just before it was delivered to its new owner. Very cool paint scheme! Image Unavailable, Please Login
