Interesting car, really. The competition looks looks nice and give an different aspect of others 275.

I don't think so. The dark green early 275 GTB show car is way way better as long as you are not hung up on having the prototype!!! Certainly impressive it survived those mountain roads...

Well, at least it has 6 carbs. I really don't care for the flood lights on the front.

For the kind of money estimated you can proabably get a 2-cam 275 with an alloy body and a 275 GTB/4. Seems like a big premium for historical provenance in a market that is flat to down. IMHO

Also really don't care for the shields and they do not appear to be period. They are not in the pictures in the Monte Carlo rally. They look really out of place on this car.

Edit: I just read on Barchetta this IS an alloy car.

I had previously thought that 06021 competizione (also a protoype?) was the first alloy car, so interesting info.

    That is incorrect.
It is steel and always has been.

This is correct and confirmed on factory paperwork.

I may have posted this previously but I'll do it again.
Back in the 70s, I serviced a car (275 as I recall) belonging to Paul Least of Genesseo, NY.
He babbled something about it being some sort of prototype.
I think it had a 275 front end and Daytona rear.
    Can someone refresh my memory?

    Bob Z.

Thanks for the correction. Hopefully Barchetta fixes that.

So back to estimates still way to much money for this car, in my opinion.

#11001 ex Greg Young who sold in 1970 to Paul J. Least (owner of Least Auto Group of Geneseo and Livonia), resident in Buffalo and Geneseo/NY, USA.
This is the second Daytona prototype (after #10287). 275 front with Daytona rear.

    Disagree.
A little over four years ago, at the peak of the market, 08933 made $ 3'850'000 all incl. and I know that you do remember this very well.
06003 is a very special car, not only the first 275 GTB built, also a factory prototype, plus has the Rallye Monte Carlo history, and it hasn't been on the market for 25 years.
All these are special key or bullet points that make the price.
Like the rather rare verde scuro color of 08933 which was a VERY substantial element back in August 2014.

I'm not foolish enough to argue with you. You are the maestro.

Clearly the provenance is outstanding here. We'll all see what the market says in roughly 2 weeks.

I can't get Gooding to load. Do you or does anyone have any direct links to the live video feed?

06003 no sale, 4.75 M high bid on phone.
    I am sure it's gonna sell post-auction.

Watching the live stream, looks like it was very close to being sold. Auctioneer was wanting just another bid or so to make the sale.

May have to wait til' they post their highlight video of the auction. They don't appear to save or upload the full live streams for later viewing on YouTube.
