THE most annoying thing about my 488

hmm, I dont know that Ive ever check the settings on the system. I dont really care about the radio but need to check this when I get home. Thanks for the heads up.

 

I will also admit that it took me a year with my 458 spider to find the door lock / unlock above by the rear view mirror. Lol.

 

Took me a good few months to find door lock button as well! Lol

 

Most annoying thing about the 488, that’s simple, it’s how Ferrari screwed up the clean Pininfarina lines of the 458 to accommodate those god awful side scoops. Outside of that, pretty awesome all around car!

 

I never go too loud with JBL cause I have carbon door panels and the make some noise if I pump the volume up.
But I did not know about this setting

 

I love the side scoops which add to the more aggressive lines of the car. Everyone who sees it is blown away by the look of it....never any mention of god awful side scoops.....except maybe from some 458 owners still licking their wounds.

 

I have to turn off the AUTO mode every time I start the car.

If you parked in manual then when you restart it goes to auto but only till you hit the paddles for the first time. Then it’s off. So easy to do since you will shift anyway.

Yup - I turn on my car, go into reverse to back out of garage and flip the paddle to go forward- and viola -auto mode gone and I use the paddles from there.

 

That's what they call the "auto mode with easy exit" - was the same on the old (i.e. not DCT) F1 gearboxes.

 

Any and every annoyance is rendered extinct the moment I put the 488 into forward motion.

 

I considered a very nice 488 Spider that was offered to me before I bought my 458. No question the 488 is a better all around car, but as I said before it is not a better Ferrari. The more refined these cars get, the less special they are to me. Go check out the CarGuys on YouTube, you will see I’m not the only one who dislikes the styling. Oh yeah, what the hell is up with those door handles? Lol

 

I dont know, whats up with them? They look like regular door handles to me.

 

Thanks for the opinion it's just that 99.9% think the exact opposite. Insofar as Carguys' go I don't see their opinion as anything other than being part of the greater minority - which is fine by me!

However with regard to "The Car Guys'" It also could be fairly said that the opinion you are referring to was being offered so not to knock the less fortunate Car guy's nose out of joint - completely understandable and good tact given the situation of the more fortunate well off "Car Guy" who's always rocking up with the latest and greatest all the time. It certainly can't be easy on the other less to do Car Guy (god love him).

 

Aerodynamics, much like strakes on an aircraft wing. Why not double duty the door handle as an aerodynamic aid? Heck, I might consider an STC to use it as spoiler which extends under heavy braking for extra drag!! LOL
