Damn this post went really south lately. It's quiet funny to be called a troll. First time But back to being serious, looking out for a good 458 so once I get one I will post it here. I know, some of you will say that's bs you just said it's crap Yada Yada. It's a dream car and not giving up on it so will get one and get to know it then we'll see if I keep it or not.
Good luck and happy driving. The 458 is an iconic car and no doubt as you get more time behind the wheel, you will enjoy it tremendously. Post your thoughts when you actually get one.
Will do. Only problem is that most 458 sold here in my country have too many previous owners for my taste. One with perfect equipment had 16 owners since 2010...
So I dont know anything about your market but is it safe to assume you can purchase anywhere in Europe? There cant be a shortage of 458s in all of Europe. The US is littered with them.
Importing from abroad within Europe is just a big hazzle and the euro currency is pretty high so doesn't make sense. There are 10 on the market available with less than 2100 miles....
It looks like you succedeed and it didn't take you many posts BTW a very fresh forum user - so welcome! And now seriously - many guys are being disappointed after 24 hrs with their just-married wifes so your "problem" is the lighter one here - you can cheer yourself up. And now really seriously - If the 458 is really your dream car, then find a good one, then check again while driving. But you know what? The higher you dream, the more it hurts sometimes. All in all "It's only Ferrari"
noone1 you're actually bang on the money here with a few things which you have stated about socalto az as I too have found he about faces (as and when it suits) and is not correct most of the time - and I suspect that is mainly due to a lack of actual (claimed) driving experience in the very cars he says he owns. Talk is cheap on the forums when it comes down to actual usage (it evidently appears) when IN REALITY there is a HUGE difference between driving to cars and coffee and taking a car out on a sporty 5 to 600 km run (or more) at a time - or, a solid days track event. I recall a time before Socal bought his 720 when he PM'd me to warn me about all the Maclaren trolls (now his pals lol) on the Ferrari forums and went on to articulate his negative driving impression of the 720's regarding the terrible lag and sound he had experienced etc. That of course has now all changed ever since he bought one. Funny about that. I'm not going to buy into 720s's shift argument other than to say I've yet to find ANY performance car other than my Porsche 991tts which can be used in auto mode for very long (and sports mode that is - sports plus does work well on track too) as the others (Ferrari, Mac etc) all just don't possess anywhere near the level of intuition which the Porsche engineers has instilled into that car. And, even then, there is no substitute for manual mode when push comes down to shove. The 488 is terrible in auto and I personally haven't driven ANY Mac that is much better (inc the latest 600lt) for that matter. All of these cars can be provoked into acquiring a "better intuitiveness" in their auto shift patterns however, that intuitiveness is very ordinary and doesn't last for very long before the shift pattern returns back to lazy mode and then hunts for the taller gear - which is very annoying and unsportscar like!! This is why manual mode is the only real mode you can drive these cars in to be able to properly enjoy the car. My 2 cents. Calling it exactly as I have found it during real drive time, not BS forum talk.
Man this thread is complete and I feel at peace. Shadowfax has chimed in with his claim of superior driving skills. It was only a matter of time. Has anyone else noticed though his only schitck is to accuse others of not knowing how to drive? I mean for me it’s accurate I guess cause all I know how to do is back the car out do the garage and put it back in. I’ve only put like 8 miles on my 720 and about 15 on my Ferrari. My plan is to build a new house with a longer driveway to get some more miles under my belt. But then he accused the guy on the 488 disappointment thread about not knowing how to drive and the guy ended up being a semi pro driver setting lap records but ofcourse,, according to shadowfax- you guessed it- dude doesn’t know how to drive. He is right about one thing- talk is definitely cheap. We keep hearing about his superior driving skills, and lots of talk but I guess that’s what the internet does to people. Keyboard courage st it’s best. I do find one thing satisfying, that despite only revving the engine on my driveway, Schumacher, errr; I mean shadowfax comes to the same conclusion as me- auto mode sucks. I think I’ll go have a celebratory drink cause my conclusion about auto mode was the same as the great shadowfax.
Noone'1s point on those black feathers in your teeth is also bang on the money (wow me agreeing with noone is an all-time first lol but even I must concede when he has a valid point - although personally I would have said it's more like a MOUTH full of black feathers, but anyways... as you were...please continue with the usual stalking along with ur pals - the cheap shots entertaining as always! Oh and btw I don't back away from my previous opinion - the evidence doesn't lie. There is truth in the saying an ordinary tradesman always blames his tools.
Oh come on Schumacher- lighten up. I mean, we all concede that you are not only a superior driver human being but also a superior human being. And as far as stalking, interesting how you use that word right cause I don’t recall mentioning you once in this entire conversation but it’s all good man. Maybe in your next posting you can post some tips and tricks for us mortals on how to properly take an apex on the race track. Anyways- looking forward to leaning more about actual driving from you. Cheers.
All good Schumacher. All good. No nerves here. Just enjoying learning from you. I just keep hoping that you post actual driving tips for us amateurs.
Kemosabe I do hope u realize it means you having to actually drive your car past the end of the street hahahaha! Still on its first tank of gas i bet!
At some point in the 1500 or so posts that you have, hopefully you will post some actual driving tips cause you sure are quick to judge poor drivers but I don’t recall having actually seen any actual helpful information. As soon as you do that, I’ll venture a few feet off my driveway with the confidence that I hope you impart in me. Cheers.
So no actual driving instruction coming anytime soon. Sigh. I was hopeful but I guess I’m not too surprised. Maybe in the future. Thx
...well admittedly it is kinda fun to have the Maclaren fanboy posse hot on my heels day in day out....getting themselves in a constant lather - Kimosabe, IPO1 (tonto) GH1234, dusty and a couple of other cohorts. But even a horse as strong as shadowfax needs a little rest from time to time....well not really
