I just received my renewal quote from American Modern, where I have a Collector Car policy, (5,000 mile per year limit) with stated value and my 2019 premium is less than $700. Now that is for a 2003 360 Spider so figure that an F430 would be a bit higher given its current value compared to a 360. My total American Modern premium that covers a 2001 Corvette Z05, 2014 Corvette Stingray and the Ferrari is $1522.00 per year. I live in Illinois and your location will also have a factor in premium.

$1,218 per year with Farmers. $1k deductible comprehensive and $2.5k deductible collision. Coverage of $500k bodily injury and $60k uninsured. I have 6 cars insured plus a personal umbrella, so don't know how that factors in to overall pricing. My 599 costs $1,365 per year.

It appears that many folks have standard ACV (actual cash value) policies written by regular non collector auto insurers. While others have “agreed value” (not to be confused with stated value) collector policies. Way different deal! With a ACV policy you are always going to have to haggle with your company after a loss on all losses. With a agreed value policy in the event of total loss (pretty easy with a Fcar) the company just cuts a check for the agreed value! Obviously there is a huge price differential of the two very different valuation approaches. You need to first decide what kind of coverage you want and if the extra premium is worth it to you. Then approach which ever type of market either the standard companies - AAA, Farmers, State Farm, Gico, Travelers, Liberty, etc or collector markets Hagerty etc.

I forgot to add, mine is an '05 F1, and my policy includes an agreed-upon value of $135k, based on market value at time of purchase. With market values now hovering around $100k, +/- $10k, I'm thinking it might be time to total it, lol.

You gotta be able to find a better company than Mercury and lower premium. They are the absolutely most difficult company I have ever had to deal with for underwriting issues , general service, or claims handling I have ever delt with in 39 years as an insurance broker. Lloyds could be more difficult on claims but the claims involved were mid five figures and up so you expect way more issues. Seriously go shopping for a new insurance company unless your driving record is VERY checkered.

Who does AAA go through where you live for the insurance. I asked for a quote and AAA said they would go through Haggerty, and it would cost $1700 for my 01 Modena. Now use American Collectors and it cost me about $1200 per year.

You guys should be happy. I am paying 2300chf for a new M40i X3 and for my Huracan Performante and 430 Scud combined its another 4300chf. Swiss francs is basically at parity with the US dollar.

ceb39 - You have to realize that AAA folks are captive agents/employees. They must give first opportunity to AAA to do the auto insurance or any other type of insurance that AAA wants to write. Then if AAA does not want to take that account/policy the agent can then go to the "surplus lines" market place for specialty auto insurance companies.

If you want an AAA quote then go to AAA if you want other quotes you are better off going to an independent broker who can give you a proposal from any company they represent either as a "standard" market doing general business with independent agents/brokers or the "surplus lines" markets for specialty auto proposals.

Keep in mind each of the specialty companies in the "surplus lines" market place have quite different policies and underwriting rules relative to the driver, driver use, type of car acceptable, valuation basis etc. I would expect that the Hagerty and the American Collectors proposals are not exactly comparable in ways other than the amount of the premium. Just know exactly what you are getting and what you are not getting from each proposal. Then make an informed decision on all the criteria including the total premium.

I suspect the insurance market place in Switzerland is far more limited than the US insurance market place - hence more competition and lower premiums.

Not 360/430, but perhaps some relevant input: I got Grundy 2 years ago for my 550. Agreed value $110,000, $1300/yr. I understand that Grundy isn't taking new policies now.
At Barrett Jackson this past January, BJ Insurance quoted $2300/yr.
