At that power, just how much of a performance difference is there going to be with the Pista which would have been launched just one year earlier.

Ferrari products positioning beginning to look a bit crowded.

Not surprised, honestly. Makes more sense if we look at the FL as a sort of "Lusso" version of the Pista. Same power, more weight, focused on fun to drive instead of pure performance, I guess.

Because the "facelifted" 488 is the Pista. If Ferrari goes the way of Lamborghini, it would be a massive sellout of the company and brand.

FL will replace the standard 488, not the Pista (and they also need to leave room for a power increase with the future F171 V6)

Okay the Pista is slower than the 720S and now the FL is having the same power output and possibly heavier than the Pista and ultimately slower than the Pista. This is what I feared. Okay then let's milk the F142 chassis for another couple of years says Ferrari. Thank you '458-Italia' for killing all of my expectations.

    What about the competition?

720LT coming out by the end of this year or certainly Geneva next year. Also 570S replacement, the first McLaren hybrid coming out next year as well with around 700 hp but a whole lot lighter than any Ferrari. New 911 Turbo this year and Turbo S next year. Aventador replacement with around 950 hp coming out next year. But most importantly ME C8 Corvette coming out this year with 3 models with around 600, 800 and 1000 hp respectively. Also Aston Martin's working on two new supercars to beat the likes of McLaren and Ferrari. Any other car I missed?

And the revolutionary V6 TT hybrid is not coming out till Frankfurt 2021. Great!

This pretty much confirms the fact that Ferrari doesn't give a schiit about the competition.

It's weird, but the only reason for the facelift's existence according to some insiders is something called "increased competition". I wonder what competition they're talking about? Maybe Huracan Evo, which is a whole lot slower than a 488? :p

Now, the FL is essentially a Huracan Evo, so why call this car the replacement and give it a new model designation? Why not call it another 488 something? Maybe 488 Pasta or 488 Pizza?

BB will be a lot faster, but not a lot of people are going to have a million dollars to throw around.

I think now I'm gonna die from my heartache. Thanks Ferrari for breaking my heart.

Now I only need 'Ferr9000' to verify this rumor so I can die. :(

This is all fun and maybe there's some truth posted here, but please don't get too upset just now. Wait and see what they reveal. And keep in mind they have a long term plan. You might like it, or maybe not, but I recommend a wait and see approach. I'm sure Ferrari is aware of what they need to do.

It looks like it's the very first happy "client". Despite the car has not been revealed yet. ;)
