Wow Alonso is fast. Into the lead now!
Alonso pace is blistering, pulling away from the Mazda and Acura. Great talk with Castroneves in the inset, "I tired to hold him off for a bit but the number 10 [Alonso] was too strong" The NBC App still commercial-free thank goodness. Much more enjoyable. Next year just need to go back to Daytona.
NBC App coverage is much better. Alonso went from outside of the top 5 at the start of his stint to 19 seconds in the lead against some damn good drivers and cars. This is so impressive.

Alonso has pulled out another 12 second lead after the caution. Looking like he's hopping out soon though. Kobayashi to replace him.
Nice stint for Alonso. Let's see what Kobayashi can do! GTLM racing a bit of a bummer with GT and C7 self-inflicted pain (wall damage on pit exit and pit collision).

To anyone at the race, make sure to stop by the donut trailer in the infield. They make them fresh at the track and they are freaking awesome. Couple of bucks for a bag of mini donuts. One of the biggest things I miss about the race. Lol
DPi---PR1MOTORSPORT & JDCMILLER #84 looks like they touched. #84 looks like it has rear wheel damage. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Great racing between the Mazda and Acura cars. The same for the GTLM lead battle between Corvette and Porsche. It's looking like the Wayne Taylor Racing team maybe sandbagged a bit. Given how much IMSA monitors for it during testing and practice I'm surprised by this.
Problems for the #55 Mazda DPi. Electrical issues. Car shut down. They restarted it but the car is not running right. Crap.
#77 Mazda DPi on fire in the bus stop! Looks like engine failure. Both Mazdas broken within minutes of each other.
They are reporting fuel leak caused issues on the #55. Given the other is broken down and on fire it seems like both cars had the came issue at the same time. Wow.
