I think in AZ we affectionately call it "The Barrett Bump".

However, BJ hasn't been a good place to sell Ferraris or other exotics and they usually don't do well there. So, maybe there will be some upward pressure.

Maybe they’re being bought by people who can’t drive sticks.

Generally i watch Barrett Jackson or mecum to see the cars. I’ve seen cars sell for crazy prices and cars sell for average. I think it really depends on the crowd. I learned a long time ago from a guy I know not to buy at Barrett Jackson. He overpaid for a Ferrari testarosa then had to send it off for engine work and a new clutch and if I recall a wheel bearing. He later told me he could never sell that car because he was too deep into it. He also learned a lesson about auction cars and has since done much better. Of course the guy is a millionaire and cars are his hobby but it was the principal of the issue. And he was “new” to auction buying at the time so he chalks it up to lessons learned.

I haven’t talked to him in a few years and I’ve been thinking of looking him up to hear some stories and see what he’s gotten over the last few years. I know I’ve seen him a few times on Barrett Jackson on tv bidding so I know he still goes.
