Picked up a couple chops this morning, 2” thick for the BGE this evening. I’ve been craving them so cant wait. Trying to listen to the opera from The Met... it’s terrible. Operas in English don’t work. Gonna have to find something else to do. Maybe Comet TV for really bad 60’s sci-fi movies. “Zondar, the monster from Venus” and others... Either that or split some wood.

Yeah, low 30s. Too cold and lots of ice around in shady areas. Watched the end of The Barbarians (1984). Debating chops today or tomorrow when it’s warmer. Hopefully do a drive tomorrow too - low 40s.

chicken ! Hah, the longshot on the board . Usually when it's my first time, I let them serve me the 3 meat platter. Worked out great.

Hopefully, the nice weather we had today in Texas will migrate your way in a day or two. Low to mid 50s. Hopped in the P-car and drove about 200 miles, enjoying the smaller roads of North Texas and southern Oklahoma. Stopped at a BBQ place in Lindsay, a small town east of Muenster. Picked up some brisket for dinner.

Great texture. Flavor kind of lacking. Didn't ask what kind of wood they used. Certainly not oak.

Yea, I'm literally just throwing stuff in the pot. About half an onion, Stubbs Spicy BBQ Sauce (half the bottle), can of coffee porter beer, beef broth, rice vinegar, worchesire, liquid smoke, and two 10oz cans of rotel tomatoes with lime and cilantro.

What I made the rub with, plus a little brown sugar.

Brisket a la Ferrari. If you have my tried it, you must! [emoji2]

Not sure when this will be cooked, but I can assure you it will not be in a slow cooker. Nothing against slow cookers, but I don't think we own one.

I usually don’t follow recipes... just have an idea when I start. May look up online for tips then wing it. Haven’t had to throw anything out yet!

Grilled up those 2” chops tonight. Ginger with S&P. Mushrooms and yellow peppers. Also grilled an Ostrowski’s sausage for an appetizer.

Didn’t get close to finishing it - plenty of leftovers. Beans had sausage from breakfast. All of it turned out great.

I'm the same. I usually Google ingredients. Get an idea. Accuracy and precision are for work. Cooking is for improvisation.

Liquid dinner. [emoji6] I hear ya! Couple of dark and stormies, and I'm in a better mood. Of course, I drove the F-car today, so I was in a good mood to start with. Hope your day improves from here on out.

Spring is getting closer. Either 51 or 52 days away. I keep track. Haven't seen my Ferrari since October. It hasn't been above 0 degrees in days. Tonight it is finally getting in the single digits so it's warm enough to get a foot and a half of snow. I think I'm moving to Florida in the not so distant future.

Brutal. We'll pay for it down here in a few moths when it's a zillion degrees in July & August, but for now, mild, sunny winter days are a gift from the Ferrari gods. Hoping summer comes early up your way, and you're driving your F-car.
