Now that I have one, I am all on board the price appreciation train. This is good news.

The interior of the other one that sold looks like the interior of a 70k car

The seller of the $111,000, 355 Spider said he put his heart and sole into it.

No idea what that translates into ?

I'm a firm believer that 355's are valuable cars. I'm all for them appreciating - until I'm looking to buy that is :)

But, IMO from following the market for years and vetting many cars for many owners, I think that car was well sold and not well bought. However, it doesn't matter to me - the buyer might have been looking for that exact car and it checked his boxes.

But, to Mike's point, 2 more comps like it would establish a market, not just one unique sale. And that's the biggest issue valuating 355's - it's almost impossible to find 2 like comps.

Oh, and in the latest Forza is yet another BS valuation listing 355 from $30-50K. Total baloney :)

You are correct....low mileage meant a lot on this transaction.

Sadly, mine is gonna be worth **** if I ever decide to sell it.
I put more miles on my 355 in the last three years than the car in question had since new.

    I wonder what a 100,000 mile 355 will be worth in 2022?

    :)

I'm all for 100,000 mike 3xx cars. Although I will admit it is easy to get addicted to fixing stuff that is not broke.
Good on the seller and the buyer who knew what he wanted apparently the markets work.
All that said a quick survey of bat and hagerty sales shows this is not normal. I hope all 355's go for this for you 355 guys. :)

Bring-a-Trailer totally changed people's perspective on the last gen Toyota Supra in a manner of weeks, with only 2 or 3 auctions. Let it do the same for the F355, it's long overdue

Agreed. I've been asked a few times -what's your number-, it's just not for sale.

    Or even 993 c2s at 100k+.

Or compare an F355 Challenge to 993 RSR price. It's crazy.

15 to 20k for a major plus other mechanical. Few k for brakes on all new 4 corners. Redo the leather and carpets from a top guy -15k. Curbed wheels - 300 each. 1800 for new tires mounted.

Interior is mint and serviced to the nth degree.

Some people like paying 15k more for good stuff. Not everyone looks at buying a ferrari on the cheap.

It’s not about buying on the cheap. I am not discussing the quality of the car but same car in red sold at black horse in Naples for 90k. 111k is excessive plus he has 5% on top. Manual 355 are not extremely rare, it’s black. It’s a great car but not incredible.
Additionally I think, though you are an expert, that a good major by a good independent doesn’t cost 15k. If you have tons of stuff to do while you are in there but 8k is more the norm here in the Bay Area. 15k is a bit steep I feel.

Dave your nicest 355 - how much did the car cost you and what have you spent since? Put a dollar value on the cost of the work you did urself.

If the car was in such incredible and original condition, I am not sure what the Seller was alluding to with: “ I really put my heart and sole into this one”. Meaning he completely refurbished it or time and effort on the pictures and the highly produced video ?

I am not in BAT so couldn’t ask what was meant by that statement.

Someone post a $70k sub 15k mile 355 in stick with a mint interior, recent major, perfect wheels, replaced exhaust manifolds and if its a 95 replaced valves.

I don't have $80K into mine. But I do need to refinish the interior parts.
