What a lazy video. No information. No editing, just hold the camera and talk for 16 minutes. Millions of followers to boot. Man, Im doing something wrong I learned nothing about the car at all from this.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Love those colors on the Pista, but good lord, that Schmee guy with the lisp and the high pitched voice is pretty much the most annoying thing I’ve watched in a long time. I’ve heard of him, but never watched one of his videos - I like watching reviews of people that can actually drive a car rather than just afford them and show off.
I can’t get past his voice. It’s annoying and so is he. Shimee is more like Shmoe. I’ll pass. Best ,Kirk.
Wow, spectacularly tough on this guy. I doubt very much we are the audience. If he keeps young lads and lasses interested in supercars isn’t that a good thing? I don’t think there is anything lazy about this at all - he is in Dubai first off, he knows the owner (which means he has been there before, in fact many times) and he covers all the main points - the details of the spec, how the car feels as a passenger and camera close-ups of the important pieces. And no, I don’t know him or have any link with him.
Actually the vehicle virgin and that salemender something are way more annoying. The one I found acceptable it's the JW.
How do I know whether I like it or not if I don’t watch it?? That’s like saying I hated the food st the restaurant but I’ve never eaten there.
That is valid for the first time. By now most of us here have seen his videos. If you go there and don't like the food, do you go back and then keep complaining? Anyone can be a critic.
I like his channel and enjoy his videos. He comes off to me as a guy who's extremely passionate about cars and also about his channel.
And can you point out one other thread where I have criticized his videos? First time Ive seen his video on the Pista.
I didn't mean my comment specifically to you, but in general. If this is the first time and you don't like his videos, then now you know he is not for you. And you certainly didn't have to watch all of it to figure out you don't love his delivery. I know you said you learned nothing about the car, but I learned a few things: 1- I like how it sounds when its in a video that seems like they didn't really edit it (the apparent lack of editing, which might seem like a negative, can also be a virtue to a keen observer!) 2- The driver says the car is considerably sharper than the GTB- as it should be and this shouldn't be a surprise, but I am glad to hear it and again, appears to be fairly unrehearsed rather than the very highly edited reviews (which I enjoy very much as well) 3- Shmee is in a lot of cars, he seemed genuinely impressed with the acceleration. That's got to be a positive for someone who is curious about or waiting on a Pista. All of these things go into my current impression of the Pista.
Are you dating Schmees sister or something? I didnt mean to offend you with my review but the video sucked. I wont be watching more of his stuff.
I've met Tim several times and communicate with him occasionally. He's a genuine car guy which I think shows in his videos. One should also keep in mind that his channel has been around for 9 years which makes him one of the first car YouTubers. Respect.
Funny to see FChat and Rennlist both aren't fond of Shmeeeeee. His thumbnails really just say it; "This video is more about me than the actual car". Because YouTube is nothing more than a show to act like an owner for these guys playing with family money. I get miffed more so when these guys pretend to be journalists and get invited to showcases to drive the cars, but admit on camera (Shmee) they won't say anything negative b/c they want to be invited back. Maybe if they had an actual vocabulary to describe cars, they could point out their criticisms like Harris, Metcalfe, Catchpole, rather than, "This car is insanely/crazy/unbelievably fast" & "It stops so quick". Nobody has to drive a 600Hp supercar to know that. I would by far, openly watch a video from a member here and see what an actual owner goes through, someone who knows the history of the brand/car. Jas only has 3 videos (Leno & his F40/XJR-15 on Petrolicious) and they are far more entertaining and informative than any of the mainstream YouTubers who make car videos.
I liked the video, mainly b/c I wanted to see the car... what I do w/ Shmee videos is skip the first few minutes when he talks to the camera. That part drives me nuts. One auto you tuber guy recently walked through an estimate of what he gets per million views a month. This guy had roughly 8 million views a month. Got around $7k per million views on average. So this avg. you tuber was collecting an avg. of $56k a month. Shmee gets way more views, so now you know how he affords all these cars. Not a bad gig. My favorite is Mr. JWW, also enjoy some of the VinWiki videos/stories.
I think I am in the wrong trade... That's how much these kids make? No wonder everyone is a YouTuber. And who is exactly Cardi B?
Ok. I watched the video. I must admit the moment the pista arrived, I wished the shimeee could be quiet. The car is indeed very very nicely specced. I liked the car 5 millions time more than shimeee's voice. Doesn't matter what he is talking about.
It's not. If you're truly curious, he's only earning around $1.2-1.3m/year, maybe more depending on advertisers & the variables with ads. It takes around 500,000 views just to generate $1,000 & 1.5 million views is around $2,500-$3,000. He doesn't generate those kind of views on most of his videos. The reality is all the cars are financed and sold months later, and he has other business ventures. He'd have to be way more popular to comfortably afford the collection he touts.
