Video was released this week of an incident that happened back in 2017.
A Russian Su-27 fighter jet banks into an F-15 to get it away from a Russian Airliner carrying a VIP.

Can't tell if the jets actually touched or not.

Bold move by the Russian. Probably some good-natured ribbing at the O-club for the American.

Looked pretty much like the F-15 just flew formation off the Su-27.

Well he had a choice. 'Fly formation' and move further away from the VIP transport or get run over. Yes, he choose to 'fly formation'.

Jim- Not even close. Lots of options. If a VIP transport was even involved.

Yep. I'd like to see the F-15 pilot do a large radius barrel roll and end up inverted and on the inside of the two jets.

Then, just cruise inverted for a while positioned between the SU-27 and the VIP airliner. :)

The video shows the F-15 moving away from the aircraft from which the video was being filmed. The F-15 only moved away when the Sukhoi banked in its direction, not before. Or maybe that is just coincidence

Meanwhile, the out of sight and radar invisible F-22s had all of the Russaian aircraft on lock down.

Sorry...really stupid video. Good thing the F-15 did not fire at the “VIP” transport or the Su pilot would have had to maneuver his plane ‘into the fire, thereby risking and sacrificing his life!” Cool...splash one Su AND THEN one Rusky VIP plane....

Lots of butthurt people over here. Come on guys, there is no need to wish for one plane to shoot down the other just because he pushed the F15 away. Seems pretty harmless to me.

Zulu alert from RAF Lakenheath. Flew F-111Fs out of there for 6 years, with a break for Desert Shield/Storm.

Nice bit of propaganda. If the Russians don't want NATO aircraft after them, they should identify themselves.

Many Russian military aircraft do not carry an ICAO compatible IFF. That may be why the F-15 needed to ID the pair.

Yeah... So can you share any details of the f-15's "intervention"? Resaon? Any reliable source? In whose airspace the incident occured?

*If the su-27s flew in formation with this airliner carrying a VIP, than only one airctraft (most probably the aformentioned airliner) was allowed to have the transponder on.

How does it changes anything I said, is it an excuse to shoot down another aircraft ? Russian airplanes are intercepted all the time since cold war and so are NATO ones, business as usual.

I'm thinking that they don't want to ID themselves anyway... for the purpose of seeing how long and where it takes the NATO planes to locate them... if they do. Maybe.

This was after they took the Crimea, with the defense minister on board, so yeah. They left that part out of the video.

It's the Russians that seem to be making a big deal out of "business as usual". Perhaps they could post a "short" video on F-15 losses to Russian built aircraft ?

Sounds more like Putin is the one "butthurt" over sanctions.

Well, kind of, sort of. Could be viewed as further confirmation of what you said (#13);)
