^^^ Notice that they don't say if the deposit is refundable should the final design not turn out to be an appealing car.:D

Some people on the Vette forum put a deposit down 2 years ago.

IMO, this is a bad strategy for the dealer. You just end up with angry customers wondering why they haven't received their car yet.

I spoke with my dealer yesterday and they will begin taking deposits next week and are fully refundable, they are one of the top 10 Corvette dealers in the country.
I am locking my spot in so I will be in their first allocation and if I don't like what I see when it gets revealed I can cancel and get my deposit back but if I do then I will be in their first order.
It amazes me how some of you can be so negative.

So I bought my C7 convertible through Criswell in MD. I got the information from the Corvette forum. I wanted one of the first convertibles and I got one about a month after they started. Really good people there. Mike Furman is the Corvette specialist. I think they are the number 2 dealer but this guy Mike ONLY sells Corvettes and has for like 20 years. He knows everything and will answer any question no BS. I picked it up at the factory, paid the MD sales tax, and then drove it to Nevada. Then you have to pay the difference in sales tax or something like that. Anyway, Mike knows how to sell cars into any state the best way.

BTW: We are not negative. We are skeptical. And you can't blame us when Chevy is involved.

Have to agree that Criswell is one of the best to buy from. Not that I have but I have followed him over the years. Hearing your results only confirms my belief. He most likely will get a call from me to order a C7 when the end is here.

Mid-Engine Corvette Caught on Car of the Year Test Loop:
This part of the story is very interesting:
Our Tehachapi loop is well known to manufacturers, and it's not uncommon to spot prototypes running the route in advance of Car of the Year testing.
If Chevy is prepping for COTY consideration, then that means the mid-engine Corvette will start around or below our price cutoff.
To be eligible for Car of the Year, a vehicle can cost no more than four times the average transaction price of a new car, which means the cutoff is about $144,000 this year.

I still think corvette will be a two car lineup, the Fe and the Me.

Besides being mid engined, I see little in that rendering that is really compelling design wise. Of course seeing in the flesh is the true test.

Make mine look like the C8R please, with a NA quad cam 5.4.
