Oh, I am not so sure that a 4.5 TT V12 would have any weight advantage over a N/A V12. Keep in mind the added weight of the turbos, the intercoolers, the plumbing, etc. The V12 Lusso is just 50 kilos heavier than the Lusso T and that is a V12 vs a TT V8, plus the 4RM (AWD) system of the V12! Moreover, a TT V12 would lose the redline madness and the soundtrack of a N/A unit.

That video seems like they are testing electric motors rather than any kind of ICE. SM said they would take the V12 hybrid. Perhaps this is a test of such a system.

I don't know a lot of specifics but I felt the LussoT to be substantially lighter then the V12, not saying your facts are off but it felt more like a 488 with 2 rear seats. I love the 12 madness but I am definitely sold on V8T for usability and better daily enjoyment - if turbocharging is a direction they take (doubt it) I won't be crying wolf, they are incredible engineers at Ferrari because that V8T is epic. Now that they have done it, I will say that nobody has come even close to keeping turbos magical, efficient, and fun like Ferrari! Well maybe the GT2RS but hmm.. it doesn't feel magical.

The turbo motor with punchier mid-range torque, even compared with the V12, will make it feel lighter. From my memory the 4RM system is very light, maybe 25-30kgs (could be wrong but I seem to remember reading that somewhere) which means the V12 is 20-25kg heavier with that weight featuring in a less-welcome place over the front axle. It will make a difference. What you lose, of course, is the V12 smoothness and sound, its linearity and its heritage. They did an amazing job in the V8T motor in terms of a linear and immediate responding throttle though.

They could have also calibrated the suspension a little differently to give the car a more distinct personality. Either way, what counts is what you feel from the drivers seat. It's good to know they did a great job with the V8T. Its a great car. I just got my V12 and its undergoing clear film right now.

To come back to the OP- I think the 812 VS will be amazing! :)

Thanks! I really love this vehicle. Its both under the radar and also completely bonkers in a way that only Ferrari could do.

RE: An 812SF Spider forthcoming - Would love to have Mr. Massini chime in here. If yes, a VS or "regular" production model, and when?

Confirmed by M.Massini, a 812 Spider is coming with a convertible hardtop similar to the 458/488 system with some differences

Time to start a thread ?

Rumours appearing that 812 VS will be launched next year presumably followed by an 812 VS Spider.
My dealer has no news at present but has anyone else got any information.
This is the one model I currently have my eye on in the ever increasing future model line up !

Posts on several other threads on this forum which in my experience is a more reliable source of information than magazines etc.
Some contributors are taken more seriously than others on past performance.
