The rear of that car looks like it would generate a lot of lift. GM thought Mitchell and co had too much power and it was a cost they couldnt quantify. so they neutured the "outsize" influence of styling, that Gm sowed the seeds of its own destruction.
Or as someone once said: 'too bad Aero had to go that way!' Enzo said Aero was for people that didn't know how to built engines. I guess Mr. Mitchell wasn't too concerned about Aero.......
Thats where the ferrari 458 is such genius. Good aero and yet and origional cohesive and stylish car. Its taken from the 308 to get there, 40 years. Cant think of a sedan today that looks different to another, the styling diffreneces are garnish.

Heres what i heard last night from a Detroit native in the industry, could be complete vapor, but he is an insider. There will be a TTV6 lightweight version of of the me car to take battle tot he ford Gt. plus the more upscale V8 mega hp versions. All the Me will price in above the C7zo6. Who knows.
I've been told, or is it, I heard, it will also be able to convert to a submarine and be nuclear powered by 2024. This car is like the loch ness monster: many sightings, but no one has touched it. The longer it takes to see one the less I'm really caring.
But wait.........there's more! https://www.motor1.com/news/304265/mid-engined-corvette-rendered-convertible/amp/?fbclid=IwAR3_NPtTZnxGIjmvUKbhyK_Tg5n1Na5ZK1UW_ZgGkE3pFVc4uQb8qr-dLmw
I did get confirmation that there is an electrical issue they are working through. A friend's son is an engineer at GM. From what I gathered, there was some sort of glitch with what sounded like the software, which essentially allowed the different electronic control systems to be hacked (the word my friend used). It resulted in a system (the engine control system was the example) deactivating when another was activated, vs/vs, etc. Regardless of the specifics, it didn't sound like a total re-working of the electrical system was required, only that the glitch be identified and remedied.
The problem with all the speculation is that the longer it goes on, the more one expects and the harder it will be for the car to live up to it.
same thing happened with the NSX, Camaro & the Saturn, Edsel, and others. The public was expecting flying cars............they turned out to be just a car. The reality generally never lives up to the hype.
I believe the last and only time the US public was completely enthralled by a new car was the 1964 1/2 Mustang. Everybody was talking about it and wanted one.
^^^^ I agree. You have to hand it to Iacocca, he did the 2 most successful new car launches in history (I think)...the 1964 Mustang and the 1984 Chrysler Minivans. It's funny to say today, but the Chrysler Minivans were selling OVER sticker in 1984. Over sticker!!! For a Minivan!!!
Dear GM This is how you avoid all this: Take Key Insert into Hole Turn DONE! You're welcome! Image Unavailable, Please Login
A little off topic anecdote - during those days at Chrysler, Iacocca rarely drove himself. Typically had a drive and security. Chrysler had owned Maserati around the time the minivans were being developed. He had Chrysler make him a special town and country van with interior fully done up by Maserati as his personal vehicle.

From latest pix there isn’t much left for the imagination. I think we can easily picture what the car looks like. The flat space at the top of the rear quarter panel does not look beautiful to me. I might need to go order a C7 Grandsport....
The reality, IMO, is that the car is not READY. GM is in the car SELLING business, not the car TEASING business and I'm sure they want to start cashing in on this car pronto. Anyone that thinks GM is being "coy" doesn't understand GM.
I think FChat can use those 80 pages to debate why the flour-de-lis symbol is not underlined in the new logo and missing two leaves! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
